United Nations Human Rights Council | UNHRC I

The United Nations Human Rights Council is a United Nations body whose mission is to promote and protect human rights around the world. The UNHRC has 47 members elected for staggered three-year terms on a regional group basis. The headquarters of UNHRC is in Geneva, Switzerland.
UNHRC- The human right council is an inter-governmental body within UN system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe. Headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland.
The first human right body under UN was “Commission on Human Rights” which was appointed by ECOSOC and approved by General Assembly on February 16, 1946.
The world leaders “Head of States/Governments met at United Nations headquarter from September 14 -16, 2005 and adopted a document known as “2005 WORLD SUMMIT OUTCOME”.
