It’s even more infuriating, their in game language is German, and the unit is distinctly Polish, I mean it’s Pulaski’s fucking legion, and they’re speaking German? What the hell people, just make them speak American English it’ll be less offensive, at least then you can say “oh it’s an American unit they’re speaking American English”, but no, you left in German for the “Czapka” Uhlans. So absurd

You read Czapka something like Chap-ka, it's polish word which means hat or cap, also Uhlans are not German, they are polish. You can find it even in in-game history description. Greeting from Poland!

We call it Şapka(Shapka) in Turkish, it used to mean Christian hat back in Ottoman times. Passed on to Turkish from South Slavic languages

I feel like people who are afraid of how busted USA is, they're forgetting three major weaknesses. 1: america has no villager cards. Ports, Russia, and India also have no vill cards but ports does port things, Russia is not renown for their economy but they do get faster vill train time, and India just gets one vill per shipment every time. It's going to make America especially vulnerable to rushes, civs live and die based off of a good first 10 minutes, like the Brits vs the Dutch being such an uphill battle for the slower dutch. 2: the US explorer can not build Town Centers. Coupled with no vill cards, you're always going to be a step behind. I presume, like all vills, american settlers can build TC's (glad Euro vills got that power that native and asian vills already had access to), but its still a considerable slowdown. 3: American variety requires forts. And especially against nations with good siege, forts are xp fodder. Sure, the Sioux have no long ranged siege, Aztec and Inca have weak long ranged siege infantry that are jank. But basically every nation can chew through forts like butter, so it's a tenuous defensive thing that you're gonna have to pay for and then leave eventually to do war on the offense.

@@kingstarscream3807 How is a specific outdated design, that at best gives you a little bit of inefficency, and at worse makes it so that rebuilding in a FFA is even harder, "European". The team just realized while making TWC that having vills unable to make TC's was a dumb oversight, did it again for TAD, but never thought to check the box for the civs before the first dlc.

@@kingstarscream3807 Huh, I didn't realize that. Seems a bit of a heavyhanded balance method. Sure, Ports are absolute trucks when they get going after avoiding a musk rush, the Turks can instantly be in the base for early game pressure, and Thoroughbred France. But then you have Russia who gets grinded out, 50 vill and one less bank Dutch, and Spain with their pikes all being nerfed the same way Germany is nerfed. If they did it for only the best euro civs, or they applied the same nerfs to the Iro and Japanese, I'd buy that.

People really need to wait a few weeks to see where the meta goes before saying this or that about US balance. It's very possible the slower early game will haunt them, or that they'll do well in a greed meta, or any number of things really. That said I'm not a fan of a lot of the voice acting for them, and I had the same criticism of the native reworks. Delivery could use some polish.

The Kovats legion is named after Michael Kovats de Fabriczy (Fabriczy Kovács Mihály in Hungarian name order) a cavalry officer of the revolutionary war who along with Kasimir Pulaski was the founding father of the U.S. cavalry. Hence the Hungarian or Magyar hussars of the legion, with a little tweak from their AoE II looks.

17 range faster and twice as tanky strelets. For only one support card. and their lategame look absolutely insane. So you basically have to win before 8 minutes or you've lost. God I was about to get into the game again, but I'll pass my turn if I have to play against such an op civ.

It says the Carbine Calvary are good against artillery, but after using them against an onslaught of enemy cannons, they are useless and horrible against them. They're also kind of shitty against other cavalry which apparently they're supposed to be good against too. Am I missing something here?

a bit mixed feelings. Imo usa has access to too many cool and sweet stuff. Quaker guns are also gamebreaking... until now you could figure out a counter by looking at the enemy units. I'd hate to always gamble if those enemy cannons are going to hurt or not. Feels like they just gave usa everything they wanted to try out and it's not working that great. Bad dlc in general.

My question is what was the timeframe, because on the 4th he was shouting from the hilltops, in shock, that America was leaked, and then 6 days later has multiplayer usa vs another player using the dutch footage, has all these videos, the works as if he was always in on it.
