United States GP: Sparks fly on and off track in title battle

Liam Lawson on a track he hasn't driven like Colapinto scored 2 points. The 1st points since Spa and beating Yuki and Colapinto in a car he hasn't driven with those tyres is astonishing. Getting Alonso upset with him yelling at the kids to get off his grass was astonishing. The Southern Hemisphere rookies have turned up hungry and it shows.

11:55 regardless of whether the rules favor the car defending... if you make the apex first and FAIL to complete the turn within track limits, the right to the corner should be forfeited. Article 33.3 requires drivers to make a reasonable effort to remain on track. any perception of guaranteed benefit by virtue of making the apex should come with that requirement.. I don't see how you can apply one rule by contradicting another..

15:02 I disagree... those are not the rules.. the problem is how they are applied. if you mandate the stewards to apply the rules and assign penalties but analyzing the fact that no one is allowed to exceed track limits, then this doesn't happen. in this case in particular Lando does get a penalty but Max should have as well REGARDLESS of whether Lando gave the place back or not.. what Lando does, does not erase what Max does. this is cherry picking. Rules need to be applied in such a way that it is clear that there is no benefit to breaching them just by virtue of "being in front" at an apex.

Probably in the minority but thought race was rarther dull aside from the last bit with lando and max.

it's the resource management, tyre saving, fuel saving during the early stints. Bring back refueling, and if they don't want tyres that allow drivers to go all out, at least allow teams to pick what compounds they bring to each GP.

@Manuel_B. with there whole eco push I don't think they will ever bring back refueling, I find the whole randomness of f1 bizzare at the momment ferrari been struggling, all of a sudden turn up at a race and Charles is pulling away from max at half a second a lap, merc winning Austin silverstone and spa then just randomly fall off a cliff it just seems completely random. It's better than max winning all the time for sure but it feels like the teams have no idea how or why there car is either performing or not performing

Max pushed him off...as he has done so many times before to other drivers. I dunno how it can be 'open to interpretation'
