Attendance was bad throughout the tourney, it made no sense to have a prime time slot when the numbers are not there. If you can't sell out a stadium when the host nation is featured, a nation that has relatively been good on the women's side of the sport, you can't expect people to tune in.

You can't fault the Yanks on that one. They not only got the goal but they made the opposition keeper work for her money. Meanwhile, I don't think I saw a Brazilian shot on target and the only save I saw from the Yank keeper was to take a mishit cross. Even worse, the Brazilian girls showed no anticipation in the box to move to where the ball was going to be. By the time they actually realised a chance might be in the offing, the US defence were there covering because they did read the game.

That would have been the worst world cup in the history of the USWNT to fail to advance beyond the group stage. I remember US football legend Carli Lloyd roasted the US team live on TV for celebrating a draw vs Portugal by saying that: "You are lucky to not be going home right now. You should thank that post, it is the player of the match" (something like that). After that they lost to Sweden, an European team. Spain would have wiped the floor with Portugal in that world cup had they met.

People who have watched soccer (or football) for years have a question about the US team: why the US has dominated the world even it seem there were many teams played better the US? The answer is the US women soccer is always built the team based on the physical and mental strength. The players run fast, defense line is concrete, counter attack quick and efficiency. Many other teams in the world have kept up and surpassed the US team in the technical skills and well-organizing, such as Spain and Japan. Yet, to keep up the physical strength is a real challenge for all of them. About Brazilians, they are the high skilled players. Their ball controlling and dribbling skills are better than the US players. They just don't know how to break the defense line of the US team.

Además esa decisión facinerosa le quitó sabor al partido entre Brasil y USA porque también privó a USA de saber si su selección que le ganó a Brasil era superior a la selección Mexicana porque se alteraron los resultados reales con una expulsión premeditada y con alevosía por insuficiencia de justificación Pienso que esa no es la manera de que a un país se le respete y se le admire y se gane el aplauso de todos los países deportivamente hablando. Obvió ni las jugadoras de USA ni las de Brasil ni las de México son las responsables de ese desatre deportivo pero si lo son los que eran los responsables o las responsables de garantizar un arbitraje profesional y de excelencia.

What a foul/back block 04:00. Not even a review! Quite absurd really. No goal without the foul as the Brazilian defender clearly attempted to head that ball but was held down then pushed forward. U.S. was getting handled before this. Sad to see a team win/lose because of this. Good header but wouldn’t have happened without the foul. I think a contact rule should exist: ANY contact in the box gets reviewed.

UEFA would not have allowed this in their tournament. Since both teams' home &away kits clash, USA despite being the home team would have to use their away kits (all blue) and Brazil despite being the away team would have to use their home kits but with their shorts must be of different colour (most likely white as their men used yellow&white before).

Sim, a obrigação de ganharem era das inglesas, pois estavam em casa, e nem isso conseguiram. Sim, diante dos EUA o Brasil é pequeno, n da Inglaterra. Brasil eliminou os EUA 4X1 na copa de 2007, disputou uma final. Ganhou o pan 5x0 EUA na final, é tbm ganhou um título no BR em 2015 3x2 EUA (Final) E chegou a uma final das olimpíadas, as inglesas, não. Historicamente, o Brasil é maior do que a inglaterra e do que a França, q nunca disputou uma final de copa nem dentro de sua casa, e nem final de olimpíadas.
