Well if u actually investigate 100 billion in weapons. And 100 billion in humanitarian aid has already been sent. This isn't considering land lease which gives equipment free if it is destroyed. And not counting cia and other soldiers giving Intel. Nor does it count space x satellites and other essential equipment. Nor does it count the supply's to fix Ukrainian power info structure. I support Ukraine but USA has sent more that the rest of the world combined by almost 3x.

I think the kind of "innocent ignorance" that you express (and that I sorta share) is valuable in itself. It doesn’t, it was the least protected abrams variant available and it took a few months to rip out the DU plates before they were sent, removing even that last bit of protection. That being said losses thus far show a lot of ammo rack burnouts with the blowout panels working to save the crew so nothing that more armor would have impacted.
