People use fuel line hose as a “quick fix” which turns into big bucks when it ends up cooking a tranny pump, the trans specific hose it meant for the 180-220 in lbs of line pressure, fuel hose is not.

I found out the difference years ago between EFI and low pressure fuel hose. I used some new low pressure fuel hose I already had on a EFI pump replacement on my 1993 LT1 Z28. It swole up under pressure. I went to auto parts store & got the braided EFI hose. Big difference in them!

Sounds and looks like the engine is gummed up with old oil. Drain 1 quart oil and refill with diesel fuel. Start up the engine and let it idle for a while. The diesel fuel will start to clean up gummed up passages and lifters. Had to do that to the 6.2 diesel in my 86 M1008 lol I've learned this the hardway lol; just go ahead and replace anything rubber on an old truck. Belts, hoses, tires, fuel/oil/brake line, etc... Those K30 front hub caps are worth a bloody fortune... Luv that old truck..

Looks like a new cam and lifters are in your next video. I know everyone is saying swap it with diesel but man I love how this one looks. Nothing a cam and a little but of math can’t fix right up. It would sound and run so clean right after like it’s got a whole new lease on life.

Maybe this is the reason it was parked all those years ago. As a USFS truck I would almost bet it has 2-3x the hours on that engine that any normal truck would have to go the same amount of miles. Many government trucks idle A LOT!

Nice fresh drive line woo hoo lol... man that catalytic converter needs to go . It will clog quick and burn a valve or worse . Old mechanics trick is replace one quart of oil with trans fluid which is a detergent and will throughly clean the inside of your engine but it's not sounding good honestly..... Love that truck . You dudes are some cool cats . Be plenty of bugs to work out that happens when they sit for a long time . Later

With a truck that sat for over a year that can cause the lifters to stick witch in return can cause a bent push rod or a stuck lifter causing to were the cam lobe off or the bottom of the lifter or both witch can be noticed with a little ticking at first but as it gradually wears more will generally get louder!!

I think i my was gradual so likely collapsed lifter and cam lobe. Gonna swap them both.

They're really all over the place but I paid $6k for this one and feel it's very fair. You seem them running/driving anywhere from $7500-$20k in our area depending on condition. Out west they are much less expensive.

Run some motor flush through it for 20 to 30 min then change the oil to 15/40 Rotella add a pint of Lucas ZDP . That might save it,,if the cam isn't flat,
