Kids learn a trade. Meaning learn how to fix some. Plumbing, electrician, mechanic, heating and cooling. Operate heavy equipment. Carpentry. Take $250 buy some tools and as you go you learn more, get more tools to invest in bigger better equipment to get bigger jobs that pay more. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. I'm a plumber and Where I'm from a plumber service call is no less than $150 an hr. For any of these trades. You can go work for a company then go and work for your self in less than 2 years. Always invest in yourself before anything or anybody else.

I respectfully disagree. As a business owner for over 20 years I can tell you for a fact a Vending machine with only $500 is a bad idea. Sorry, but I learned one important lesson when I was a teen and started my first business. It's called inventory. Whatever profit you make has to buy back inventory! A better plan for an unskilled teen is to go buy a lawnmower, rake and shovel. Or, a bucket, mop, rags and cleaning supplies. Hustle on that. Truck driving is also a good option. If he has a place to stay for a couple years or living with his parents, an even better plan is to go to a trade school where he can get a paid internship leading to a professional license. A licensed skilled tradesman can earn 6 figures within 5 years if he's a hustler. The military is also a very good option. The very best option of course is a PROFESSIONAL STEM DEGREE if he has a stable living situation for 4-5 years.

We have degree programs were the graduate spends 4 yrs & thousands of dollars to obtain the knowledge, but is still under qualified for the job/position due to lack of hands on experience. So then they tell you to spend thousands of dollars more (or go further into debt) to gain the needed experience.
