This is a step by step building tutorial for an Ice Fishing Cabin, a small Ark house design built with wood and adobe with a fireplace to keep warm, and a hatchframe to fish through!
In this guide I will teach you how to build a small winter house on a frozen lake in the Ragnarok map, at coords 45 50. This tutorial was recorded on my personal server, Building Evolved.

use halfwalls on the bottom - it will raise the ceiling up a little bit so you wont have to crouch but really pretty and in a fishing shack crouching is allowed

Love the micro-build! Makes a nice change of pace from all the epic 1000 piece structures. :) Fishing's not my thing, but it inspired me to start work on a sled dog stable with adjoining cabin for my wolves - perfect for getting into the winter spirit. Thanks for the awesome video!

Hey UTC, Love the build ... absolutely awesome. Just want to let you know, If you place the hatch frame first before the 2x4 foundations there would be no need to "seal the gap" created by placing the hatch frame after the 2x4 foundations. Just sharing some love!

I placed a camp above the frozen lakeon a cliff in arctic biome genesis console. I want to use one of the fishing holes and put a cabin above this as you can put a chair and actually fish in the hole. Gonna try this later today.

Nice going again UTC, you could have used the halve walls to fix the isseu with the roofs. Next to that it would have changed the look of a low level build

i've always enjoyed your unique look to the map. you just know how to pick the perfect place and come up with a built to suit it exactly. i'm almost jealous XD could you do some more functional builds sometime? a lot of your builds are cool houses. but theyre not very practical for putting my crafting stations and such in. thanks always

You can avoid the crouching under the roofs all together if you just make the building two walls high. Cute little build though! I wish more of these mods were available for console!

I totally understand the desire to get these on console, they really add a lot to a themed build! I think a 2 wall high build would have lost the Ice hut look, but there are other options! Thatch and Adobe will require ducking, Stone and Wood will not!

UniteTheClans I play Primitive Plus for PS4 and this gamemode needs some serious tlc, the more mods they could combine with P+ the better! I see what you mean about having the building stay short being more hut and homey.. but I like my buildings to be practical too! And while I have your attention, the Arctic Steamboat Video you did is one of my favorite boat builds! It inspired my own boat build variation :)

Really dig your videos. Probably the best I have found. Question, how do you come up with the ideas/plans/layouts for your builds? That is the biggest obstacle that I face. Any input is greatly appreciated.

+Wayne McGlone thank you Wayne! I wish I could tell you! Some days, like this one, I was inspired by the environment. Lots of times I search for inspiring pictures on Pinterest or Google images. Other times I dream up an idea! As with anything creative, the only way to get anywhere is to force yourself to do it. Hop into Ark and build until you get inspired. I use ArkCommander and play in admin mode so I don't have to stop to craft or gather. Really let's me explore my ideas!

Such a pitty that once S+ becomes the default building system , lowering with pillars will be a thing of the past. Since anybody who has ever tried it with S+ knows that it doesn't work. Same with snapping foundations to the bottom of ceilings.

You just need to visit the snowy parts of the map! The Island and The Center have areas, and Ragnarok has a wide variety of snow biomes!

In retrospect you are so right. Sky blue walls, tan roof would have looked solid.
