Exciting times ahead in the world of robotics! Unitree, a leading name in quadruped development, has just teased its latest venture: the H1 humanoid robot. Just today, via social media, they revealed a glimpse of what's to come, showcasing the new robot in an engaging video.
Having previously dazzled the tech world with their second-generation Go2 quadruped, Unitree has always been at the cutting edge. Their expertise in leg mechanics and drive systems for quadrupeds puts them in a prime position as they make the leap into the humanoid robotics arena.
So, what's the H1 all about? Standing proud at 71 inches or 1800mm, and weighing approximately 100 lbs, or 47kg, it's a marvel of engineering. Powered by high-torque joint motors and a gear train, all developed in-house, this robot is sure to impress. For those curious about its perception capabilities, the H1 is equipped with a 3D LiDAR sensor and a depth camera. Its leg joints have 5 degrees of freedom, while the arms offer 4. And, though the initial images only show a cushioned nub at the arm's end, hands are on the horizon.
With no official release date announced yet, the video does hint that the H1 could be on the market in anywhere from 3 to 10 years. As for the price tag? Unitree suggests it'll be under $90,000. A promising future awaits, and Unitree is clearly leading the charge!
