Every child has that one toy that they just wanted so badly to be under the Christmas tree, but just never was. For me, this lego set was and still is the toy I want so badly every Christmas for the last 30 years.

Yes i wanted it too! Especially i live in germany and it´s obviously far away from north america, so i never knew of the existence of the other unitron sets and the monorail was too expensive for my parents...

Lego trains and monorails are probably the most fun sets you can get. Just watching the vehicle go around its path is surprisingly soothing, but this one has play functions similar to the tube system of Life on Mars.

just got this set back after 25 years, my mom gave it to a neighborg and today i'm really happy since the electric parts and the tracks are in really good condition

I got this one for what I believe was my maybe third of fourth birthday. I was obviously way too young for it, but I was completely mesmerized. I think it's so amazing that my uncle not only got me some cool Lego, he got me the most expensive set in the store when he was probalby just 18-20 years old. Sadly I don't have the complete set anymore, pieces have disappeared over the years but there's a few key ones that's stuck around, like the moon platform.

Thanks for the complete look at Unitron. There are still barely any videos on this super cool theme. One thing, your Crater Crawler is built strangely and missing a few parts, namely the rocket engine at the back and there should be trans neon green antennae on pivots at the back, and either side of the lower cockpit.

Really nice video. 14:20 you can use the radar dish thing on the Space Station Zenon to launch the separate cockpit which comes with this set. Simply open the wind screen, remove the minifig and insert the cockpit. That is why my personal opinion is that set 1793 is one of the most underrated sets. It has so much playability. My absolute favourite Lego Space sub-theme - Unitron. I have all sets more than one time.

@11:58 - looking at the back of the box of the 1789 Star Hawk II set, seems like the idea was exactly to mimic the space shuttle launch and as that "tail" or "ramp" is on hinges, you probably should rotate that assembly

Hello! Just curious, how do you afford all the Lego you have and have you built any mocs? And I notice you seem to know so much about almost every Lego minifigure and set you have. Is it a neurodivergent special interest? (I am neurodivergent too,and adore LEGO! Awesome set, but almost nobody could afford it. Too bad in the current era where the Lego sets cost 600-700 USD, it is too "expensive" for Lego to make these kind of baseplates and monorail system... terrible.

I disagree with your pricing for that set. According to my Shop At Home catalogue and Brickset the RRP for that set was $178. In todays exchange rate that's $380. Some people might think $380 isn't all that much for a Lego set but back in those days there were very few AFOL's. You were either a rich kid, a very lucky kid or an adult to get that set. I have been an AFOL since 1989 and I bought many Lego sets up until about 1993 when I got married and started having children so I missed out on this set as well as others until I started buying Lego again when they started making Star Wars sets. I was able to get a few copies of this set but didn't buy the other Unitron sets in the series but they all do look good and there is a lot of playability between them, something a lot of parents back then didn't seem to pick up on.
