There was a Serve-A-Thon Free Concert at Boston City Hall Plaza on 22 May 2010. The concert was not publicized much, and took place on the same day as the EarthFest. "Unity" band was great, with song genres including pop, jazz, disco, and even 70s funkadelic. This author hadn't seen a concert like that in Boston since the 1970s during Kevin White's "Summer Thing," and greatly enjoyed it. These free concerts are a great public service. Serve-A-Thon is related to Americorp, and teenagers volunteer for a year like the Peace Corp I believe. That day they painted cool murals at the Hugh O'Donnell School in East Boston, as well as at other places. Such murals increase respect in the neighborhoods, and decrease vandalism. Great performance by Unity! Thank you to the volunteers of Serve-A-Thon from the neighborhoods of Boston!
