As I have been working in a new AR Mobile Application I saw the need for creating anchors (reference points) with AR Foundation. In this video I show you how to add reference points that target feature points and also how to add reference points by using the camera distance as a starting location.

I spent more than a week to find a solution that works smoothly, and here we go. Thank you very much, and finally I have one question. When I cover the camera with my hand and release it prefab loaded will be lost. How can I keep their position when the camera lost the vision?

Hi, I want to add objects at the edges of objects in the real world, how can I find the edges of these objects? Also, I want to use such a model in a Meta Quest device, is this possible? Thanks

is the prefab attached to the AR Anchor Manager component the displayed AR Object?

Hi, how object you instantiate are so stable and stay where you put them without losing their position while you move your phone?? (on my side anything i instantiate it loses its position while i move my phone or they tremble)

What phone are you using ? And are you creating an anchor when you instantiate the objects.

You have to create what’s called a “Reference Point” by using the reference point manager, in newer version 3 > they are called anchors. Here is some info on what is required docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.xr.arfoundation@3.0/manual/anchor-manager.html

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but this doesn't work for me. For some reason everything works except for the tracking. Or should I say that the tracking works too well? When I move my camera, the objects move with it. I want the objects to stay in place in real world coordinates.

What device are you using ? Also unity version ?

I am working on a project in which a user can create lines with colliders in AR, so do I need to add a reference point (8:59) as you did or will it work just by rendering the line in the world?

Edit: I watched another video of yours(kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaKTeqRrhbF6nMk 8:01) and you said we need to add anchor points for the line , so how to do it , I am stuck here.

Simple case : Simple AR scene, kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWPIe6Stg9adosk You put a cube in a scene in front of you, debug.log cube position and rotation, build and run, After build object is in place, log reads its position its ok, then you cover camera, everything freezes, you rotate the device somewhere else then the object looses its position debug.log prints that it is the same position and rotation, it seems that skybox itself rotates when you cover up camera, how to know if an object has lost its position? How to know if an object is in a different position or a position is replaced if the position of the object is not really replaced in unity? I need to notify users to come back to the initial position to see AR objects once again. Thank you!! Paul.

@@kimkaye1712 search in ARSession cs - trackingState and you`ll find out, its basically either tracking or limited, that`s it, the you can mess with point cloud
