does anyone know what univariate distribution means? i've been given this assignment for college and its asks us to describe the univariate distribution of responses for certain variables, but my lecturer has not told us what this means exactly... please advice!

Univariate refers to a single variable, say years of education. The distribution of that variable can be shown in more than one way but typically you would have a column of numbers representing possible outcomes. For years of education, this might be something like 0, 1, 2, 3, ..., 20. Then you would have a second column with counts or frequencies of responses based on the data. How many people had 0 years of education? How many had 1 year of education, etc. How many had 20 years of education? This column sums to the number of cases. A third column is often included that converts the counts to percentages. What percentage of respondents had 0 years of education, etc. This column sums to 100%. I have a set of videos that are very applied and describe how to construct univariate frequency distributions. These videos are very applied and howto. You can find them at kzbin.info/aero/PLRYSxJ3XjgQPQhOytfqn7Dfmx0_ytHhSF If you want videos that are less applied and more descriptive see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nonYdqZjqKpnn6c kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJ23YX-YntuqbqM&index=6&list=PLRYSxJ3XjgQN_cpQ0McvoU4HTi6-yCIQH kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpSVindnf8uMmKs
