Hello, the wiring harness we used in this video is special for VW including canbus. You have to find special wiring harness for the car you are trying to fit and then it will be just plug and play.

I bought this one for my 2008 VW Touareg. All connected with canbus harness and such. How can I get the steering control selections back?

@@kylecronje6368 yes. I had to get into the settings of the unit and then select a Canbus type that was compatible with my vehicle.

@@kylecronje6368 yea forsure! Mind you nobody posts solutions for these aftermarket units for the Touaregs. So it is so challenging and that's why people leave the oem units alone. These Touaregs just need a modern carplay to feel alive again. I definitely like mine now with carplay and touchscreen goodies.

I have the same radio pretty muchi'm having a difficulty Connecting my backup camera to the wire that is currently Connected to the canbus. Its the 3rd wire on the top row from the black and white. I understand that you need the canvas to be connected for Android auto so how does one actually get connected with a backup camera in addition to keeping the Android auto?

thank you so much for sharing this video !! 🥲 I was able to install this by myself - everything is connected and working great , I just have this issue where the audio sounds muffled. I’ve gone through all my settings to make sure everything is set normal. Everything is set balanced so I don’t know what is going on, in case anyone has any tips for me , thanks !!
