In the inaugural presentation of the CTS "Innovative Projects to Improve Transportation Safety in Texas" series, University of Houston's Dr. Ioannis Pavlidis explores the relationship between driver stress and driving risk.
Dr. Pavlidis and his group developed a low-cost method to assess driver physiological stress in real time and then tracked driver stress levels during driving and non-driving periods. The work also entailed a statewide survey of Texas residents to assess additional factors contributing to driver performance, risk and stress.
