Ah. Ok. So that's what I did wrong. I'm used to recording at an off set from center (because of the DC spike that lives there.) and then correcting for that offset. Now I know I should actually be setting this to the actual frequency of the device and investing if it's truly using that frequency with the steps outlined in this video. Thanks for clearing that up!

How do i tune the signal with the spectrum analyzer to a FSK signal? Do i simply put it in the middle of the 2 peaks? Or is there any auto function?

What about frequency hopping protocols? The one I'm working on switches between 40 channels, changing every 20ms.

Is the RTL-SDR v4 supported? Im an not getting much succes when following these steps: the spectrum analyser does not seem to register anything, and even becomes unresponsive sometimes.

ahhh well that fucking stupid, why?? well lets start by saying under sub 1Ghz yardstick One is more acurate and able to script without gnu support, just use rfcat. fuck this stupid program (from a Yardstick POV)

I'm using win10 64bits ver.1607 14393.693 . HackRF firmware 2017.02.1.I was able tu use URH in a kali 2016.2 VM.

In my Windows 10 VM 64 Bit the HackRF native backend is correctly recognized. What Python version are you using? HackRF Support should work out of the box for Windows.

Currently, you have to install Gnuradio to use it, which seems to have some problems on Windows. However, I am working on a native support for RTL-SDR. Stay tuned!

Ohh boy don't do this for a living.. as It is funny, when a video intended for explaining takes this approach. Im only 2 minutes in, and I appreciate your effort, but c'mon explain what the freaking setting do... instead of this "you can also change this and you can also change this if you want to." why not explain pro and cons and what the settings do and what the pro & cons there is by changing certain parameters under-recording or setting up HackRF in universal Hacker..(if you don't know what they do, then say so)

This video is an introduction to URH specifically and not SDRs/HF in general. Therefore, some basic knowledge such as "What is a center frequency?" about SDRs is presumed. In order to learn the basics I recommend checking out the excellent videos of Michael Osmann: greatscottgadgets.com/sdr/

In my setup: RTL-SDR from rtl-sdr.com and win10 64-bit machine, after installation in edit->options->device, under RTL-SDR the device is not available. What would be the approach to troubleshoot it? I know that the dongle works fine as i've already used it with SDR#. Please advise. Thank you for the great software:)
