The clasp on the lanyard is a safety thing. Just in case the lanyard gets stuck on something it will break in half so the lanyard doesn't choke you.

Yes! Ha! Glad they’re thinking of safety, right?!? That totally did not dawn on me until another viewer commented about that a few weeks ago. I’m glad they’re thinking about safety! It didn’t bother me or my kids, but my husband did not like it pulling at hair on his neck. It was something that I definitely wanted to make note of on the video because he mentioned it on several occasions. But of course safety is better than comfort most of the time. LOL! Would you say the wands and choosing ceremony is worth the money?

The wands were definitely worth the money to us! My kids enjoyed doing all of the spells at each park. (Heck, I’d get one myself if my kids didn’t get them. It’s really fun!) Plus, it’s something you can bring back to the park and use during each visit. The Olivander’s experience is free, but you have to wait in a line to get in. You aren’t guaranteed to be chosen, but it’s definitely worth experiencing once, in my opinion.

This is going to be a long answer to your simple question. Haha! Ok, I personally think that it depends on who is getting the robe and what kind of experience is important to you. The robes in the park are very nice but also have a pretty hefty price tag. I wasn’t willing to spend that much on my 5- & 8-year olds, who will grow out of them in a few years. I found Halloween costumes that worked for us and were much cheaper. That being said, if the robe and the experience is important to you and you are planning to get a nice robe before or during your trip, I’d recommend waiting and getting it there. The best place to go would be “Madam Malkin’s Robes for all Occasions” in Diagonal Alley. Cool shop and cool experience to get your robe IN Diagon Alley. There are some things that I like to buy before my trip, but that would be one that I would want to get in the park for the experience and fun memory. Side note, my sister got a robe one year in Universal, and she wears it every single time she goes to Harry Potter world. She has definitely gotten a lot of wear out of it. It’s also really great to wear when you go to Orlando during chilly seasons. The robe adds an extra layer of warmth and actually cover your legs. Sorry for the long answer. 🤣 I hope that helps. 😀
