A quick tip for bypassing a lot of the traffic, Universal Studios connects to LAS metro rail, specifically the Red Line, with a shuttle taking you right to the entrance. It's an open secret among locals to park their cars near a stop and just use the train as a two-stage shuttle. Total cost of parking is a bit cheaper, you don't have to climb the hill from a bad parking spot, and depending on where you're coming from you can skip a huge chunk of LA traffic.

We just got back today. 7/21/19 yes it was busy...... but with Express pass or v.i.p. it's no problem at all at most 20 minute wait. Do not go with out express passes! I repeat do not go with out Express passes. Otherwise up to 4 hour waits. No joke. Harry Potter ride shortcut is legit. And dont skip waterworld show! Best ride mummy returns. The video def made my experience better.

You are right the studio tour ride is a must do thing if that's the only thing to do in the Universal Studios I mean that's the ORIGINAL ONE & ONLY Universal Studios offering visitors this experience. I've done it 2 times and I will do it the 3rd time next year.

I go during the summer and the single ride line is great. Going on the studio tour fist is the best thing to do. I take the subway both ways and save money.

I went there today. its was pretty okay, but i think children enjoy it more than adults do, atleast for me. I tought there would be movie sets and behind the scenes stuff, and like some cool movie history and props. It felt more like a amusement park for kids.

For the studio tour if you don’t mind listening to it in Spanish ask at the front of the line what time the Spanish tour will start. I waited 30 min instead of 2 hours for the English. Helps that I speak Spanish but if I didn’t I would at least still get to see everything and not wait hours for the tour lol.

Good tips. It’s true tickets are more expensive during the summer time, but due to higher volume of attendance, if you’re a big Harry Potter fan, it can enhance your experience being able to see the light show on the Hogwarts castle. There’s also Grinchmas, which is awesome. They have also had the special light show winter version projected on the hogwarts castle (which is longer and more fascinating). Studio tours is definitely worth riding. And if you ever think about getting VIP experience, it’s really cool because you can walk around for portions of the studio tour.

So pretty much buy your tickets online or buy the express tickets so you don’t have to wait in line, bring snacks to avoid the expensive restaurants, take the train (depending on how far you’re hotel is), and take lots of pictures 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Most rides would have a spot you can put your small purse in on the actual ride itself. You can certainly bring your GoPro in the park.. might not be able to bring it on the ride though

oh man last time i was there was in the year 2000. i remember the X-men movie was about to come out. we were looking at the toys sold there at the city walk. i also went to see the movie The Patriot in the theater there. i also went to a blink182 concert right around that area. i luckily either went in there two to three times for free...or by discount since my brothers friend worked as an usher there at the time. but yes, the tour was one of the fun stuff i remember on my trip there. the jurassic park ride and the back to the future ride are my favorite. the terminator show was also my favorite too. the waterworld show, funny enough, i think is actually better than the waterworld the movie...

You're right... the waterworld show is way better than the movie. Although that's not really saying much.. it's funny they put a show in after a fairly mediocre movie. No more terminator show.

It's funny, we were just there on Sunday and Monday and the lines were all pretty decent! We had the app and the average was about 45 minutes but it changed a lot throughout the day. When it got closer to dark the lines went down significantly and were almost no wait! We also were able to make it last minute to shows and the tram. I guess we were just lucky!
