All buttons in mode on a bus is my secret weapon, I send freaking everything to it. Great plugin.

very interesting, on stereo input mode or mono input mode? and you even send drums into it yeah? I assumed you low cut the lows out and high cut some of the high end? (on the send)

@@darotm7628 Hey! So I definitely like mono input mode and high pass the send only at like 150-200 ish (basically to ensure it won’t touch the subs but it’ll still have a lot of that low mid thickness) And I’ll clarify, I’m not quite sending absolutely everything, in particular no drums because I’m working with a lot of live drum kits and it’s usually too much for the vibe and messes with phase too much. The few times I’ve done it are on pretty affected/trippy parts, and I only send the overheads. I’m also not sending everything at unity, it’s all dialed in to right before it feels like an effect. If you send too much it starts to feel like a chorus, which is cool for some stuff if you’re looking for that. I’m not really using it for that however, I’m using it as a general mix thickener. That’s why I use it on all buttons in mode; it’s simultaneously the thickest but least like actual chorus when on a bus. It’ll make your bass, anything synthy (including drum machines/samples), guitars, and vocals sound massive. I even send off my delays and reverbs into it. I can’t emphasize enough home much of a “magic box” it is. It’s gluey in a different way than compression or saturation. I still use things like ADT for more blatant chorus effects (the organ speaker plugin UA make is also fucking sick for this), but the subtlety of using this on a bus is something that I didn’t know I needed until I have it. And now I literally use it on every mix now both in the studio and for my main gig doing live sound when it’s available on the console (hoping to get waves performer soon to fix that haha). (Sorry for the novel lol, I just love talking about mixing)

@@benjaminhixson3918 thank you for your reply. When I saw your first comment I went and tried routing bass n melodic elements to a send of the “magic box” and yeah I thought straight away this sounds amazing 😂 just instantly thickening the mix and making it sound bigger. Glad to have this trick in my Arsenal, thanks 😊. Yeah keeping it as a subtle mix enhancer is the way to go! This is probably my fav trick I’ve learnt in a while, probably going to always use this now. Can’t see why I wouldn’t

Thanks, Matt! Studio D really shines with soundscape and sound effects creation for the narrative podcasts we produce. P.S. Please release the Intro and Outro song to your videos. It’s sublime!

Create a fx send and blend the wet dry or parallel with about any daw
@ShynAwkward Жыл бұрын
@@got2rock4 Or, UAD could simply create a dry/wet knob like every other plugin. If this chorus effect is placed BETWEEN different plugins on a channel, the only way to replicate that interaction on an fx send is to duplicate the channel chain on the fx send also. A dry/wet knob can save us having to duplicate channel plugin chains on parallel sends.

the original unit had no mix knob and the tracks sounded fine
@ShynAwkward Жыл бұрын
@@alexandersorbas1881 Weird reasoning? The original unit also had no "mono/stereo" input button, so why did UAD add this novel feature and not a blend knob? Practically EVERY digital plugin modulation effect in existence has a blend/mix knob - except UAD's Dimension D & Brigade Chorus!

Whats the difference between this plugin and the Brigade Chorus ?
@UniversalAudio Жыл бұрын
They're two distinct processors. Dimension D was a classic studio rack processor with a simple feature set great for widening all sorts of things without movement. The Brigade is a classic stompbox chorus effect. be sure to demo them both side by side to see which you prefer. We suspect you'll find uses for both!

Yaay no mix knob, and none of their plugins have double-click to reset. Why are UAD plugins so cumbersome in the name of being “true to the originals” lol it’s 2023 folks…

Just run it as a send effect, fixed.
@Noisa9 ай бұрын
@@hakkin_d yes... that's clearly a thing to do for some situations, but no all situations, obviously. There's reasons not to route it that way, hence why other manufacturers are living in 2024. Also doesn't address the double click function, that any other developer has implemented.
