Simply, beautifully articulated. My search of non duality philosophy traversed through Taoism, to a very superficial scratch on Tantra, then lately, stumbled upon Advaita Vedanta. But this has illuminated everything. It wasn't a coincidence that Abhinavagupta appeared on my screen one day, and brought me here. Thank you. I still have to listen to this over and over, but it's already blessed me, deeply.

Man, what a class your video was! It was fascinating to learn many things that seem to have been distorted in my homeland, Brazil. I learned a lot from your perspective and took many notes that will be invaluable for my book. In addition, the focus of my research here was to understand more about the Kaula disciplines and school, which apparently many books distort, and also Shaivism, which has also reached me. I have a real interest in more ancient knowledge, about the 8 mothers, about Lalita, about this Kaula practiced before the "cleansing" was done. Could you give me some direction if this still exists, if there is appropriate literature for this type of knowledge? I really enjoyed the rich details you gave about Kaula and the 8 Matrikas. I already wish you much happiness on your path and thank you for illuminating mine.

*Abhinavagupta’s (10th century polymath) description of Kashmir:* Where people normally are poetic and wise, Where even warriors are articulate, Women of cities are lustrous as the moon And charming in their gait, Where accomplished female practitioners of yoga are Bright as the spark of fire Particularly due to the complete opening of the path of the _shushumna_ nerve in them they are also lustrous as the sky in the state of the lunar eclipse Where the wine known as madrika Brings maturity in the talk of love of lovers In which part of the world people get engaged Confidently and unobstructed in the fare of love Where the Gods take interest in remaining engaged in the delight of the chakras and where departs the joy of life and blessedness of liberation where contemplative practiotioners of yoga, munis dwell at various spots And where does Shiva dwell himself all the time. I therefore consider Kashmir As the proper place of yogic accomplishments Siddhi there is no place on the whole of this earth Which may compare with Kashmir in this respect Nor in the respect of contentment or fulfilment of all aspirations.

Very good lecture about Kashmir Shaivism & Tantra. 99.99 % of the time, human beings end up failing to conquer the very basic states of ‘Maya’, whether it’s wealth, gold, power & female. One can’t reject the samsara and get into these practices. If we get into samsara, that’s another trap of Maya.

What a powerful lecture. I really appreciate your frankness. This leaves no or little room for misunderstanding. Maybe someday, we can all be open enough to appreciate an alternative point of view that is foreign to our mundate or unbringing way of thinking so we can evolve into greater beings. Many ancient scriptures of learning has been available and has also been lost . Of the many titles given to subsets of the original eastern scriptures or philosophy , what is term Hinduism. Although the Shivaisms, Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism and others may have a flavour of one foundational belief over others, what is Hinduism really. This information I cannot find. When was this name established. Thanks Blessings 💗🙌🙏
@rajadasworld2 жыл бұрын
The word Hindu was originally used by the people of the Persian empire (500 bce onwards) to describe people of the Indian Subcontinent because of the river Sindhu that divided Persia and India, and then it came to be known as the people who were not Muslim by the later Muslim Mughals invaders and rulers that took over most of North India. When the British colonized India, they continued that tradition, and they held a census in 1865 that declared that all people that were not Muslim, Christians, Jews, or Zoroastrians were Hindoo. Later that got even more refined, and Hindoos became all people that were also not Jains, Buddhists, and Sikhs. A recent invention is this term. The word used to describe the Hindu religion in India by practitioners is Dharma or Law or the Sanatana Dharma (the eternal laws of nature) as it accepts all lineage from the Vedas (1500 bce), the Vedanta Upanishads (100 bce), the Puranas, Vaishnavism (Vishnu and Krishna), The Geeta (practical Vedanta), Shaivism (parallel but refined from 3rd century), Shaktism (Tantra from 5th century onwards), Yoga, and then all offshoots from there.

But I have a pretty good handle on it it now and have developed a sort of dexterity also.. I can control my goosebumps and some very small electronics.. I just discovered Kashmir Shaivism a few days ago … It seems to be the closest thing I’ve found to my own experience.. So far.. My knowledge of it is limited currently … But At my current level of ignorance This is where I’m at .Electric I am .Tertium Quid “the third thing” .Both yet neither (Of all the things) .Simultaneously .Continual flux .There is no stasis …when electric current “travels” in a closed completed circuit it appears to go both ways simultaneously … when actually once established the positive and negative DONT move They line up and attract then repel each-other simultaneously continuously Polar extremes are mutually inclusive and interdependent.. Each of them Endlessly negating and justifying the other The particle and wave You don’t solve the paradox You deconstruct the framework it was formulated in Thereby dissolving the paradox … The answers were never wrong Just the questions Were insufficient… ❤️⚡️💪🌀

25:45 is very interesting, reminds me of Samael Aun Weor's 'The Perfect Matrimony: Why Sex and Religion are Inseparable'. Something about the sensuous... just as it is the seed-power of physical life, so it is the seed-power of spiritual life, all life. Anyway I had a random question for you Raja: I've incorporated a great deal of Sri Vidya into my sadhana now via your courses; often I chant the Lalita Sahasranama from the book 'Glorious Alchemy'. Discovered today that there's also a Lakshmi Sahasranama - would this fit into a Sri Vidya practice classically speaking? I'm assuming yes (obviously SHREEM), but just wanted to check. I'm sort of a very all over the place, pick-and-mix mind and I feel it's important for me to stick mostly to a single stream of tradition in my sadhana. Thanks.
