@@Waywardstrategist I'm 36, 2005-2010 was a blessed ERA for RTS. Nowadays the RTS genre is full of (outstanding) remasters / remake / hd edition but nothing truly innovative.

@@Nihiliste- Should try Planetary Annihilation: TITANS. It itched the scratch for a "innovative" RTS. Unit Cannons, Weaponizing Moons, Death Stars, ect. It is awesome.

Wow!!! that was a really interesting game, with lots of things that arent thought to be meta! reminded me of the hierarchy game where i tried cascade reactor (with varying levels of success uhh)

Yeah that was some good fun I thought! Brutes, mortar, and some like really fun Zessus play. I'd like to see both of those ideas expanded on. Brutes are good vs buildings.

Man, this game. I loved the hell out of this game. I think I still have my physical copy laying around. The Hierarchy player here was very meh. Against Masari, there is a glitch with brutes that lets you instakill the Masari heroes. Can't remember if it worked on the 1.3 version though. Using figments, you can rush Hierarchy very quickly if done right. Since everyone starts in the same places in every map, it can get pretty disgusting.

I don't support software piracy. Most people who play nowadays buy copies on Amazon (the only place where you can get it anymore as far as I know) or have old copies from back when the game was still sold. The Discord (link in description) has files for download but you still need a valid key to play online

This game seem interesting how good this compared C&C especially Red Alert?

It's as he said in the video, it's an "Unsung Classic". All 3 factions play very differently from each other. It's about equally as wonky as the Red Alert games, but a bit more toned down in the self aware trash factor. More classic 60s-70s feeling alien trash. More elegant than Red Alert in that. Slower than Red Alert, but more assymetric. Especially fights against Hierarchy faction have an interesting momentum to them, as the other player plays more classic base building RTS and the Hierarchy player builds mobile walkers that function in multiple roles. Resource (humans) harvesters are also one of their main combat units (the walking gothic cauldron thingies) and their strongest combat unit functions also as their main base. So the Hierarchy builds a lot of momentum to literally crash into their opponents base with their own base and crush them. But they also loose more than just combat units if it fails. I've seen matches against hierarchy play out in sort of waves, where the Hierarchy tries to turn out these giant base-tripods that slowly march over the map towards the enemies base and the opponent trying to take it out before it reaches its destination, taking out a large part of the Hierarchies economy/momentum with it. Petroglyph tried a vaguely similar faction with the Grey Goo later, but i think the Hierarchy nails the "slowly impending doom"-faction best.

Human are an unofficial faction not supported on the patch version of universe at war that i play on. Unless the human mod is brought forward to my patch version I doubt I'll show it, sorry.

@@Waywardstrategist it's currently IMBA too. I could beat alien factions in DEFCON inactive and no Hero respawn mode but I get butchered when DEFCON active and Hero Respawn mode. (Human weakness in the current mod is due to lack of repair and ability to remove status effects).

The human faction can only be played during the beginning of the campaign. After that the Novus take over to defeat the Hyerarchy.

Seems really one sided for most of the game. I used to cheese other teams using, of all things, the science walker. It has mind control!! Put two or three of those on a science walker, so you get soldiers and machines, and in my experience it does a great job at disrupting the enemy. I used to use a lot of armor to create a walker that would take the hits while another walker deals damage. Based on what I saw here, it seems like one of the teams might have been a new player, but idk for sure. This game was never the best at PvP.
