If one object is smaller than the other, then the bigger one will keep the pre-collision velocity (like just literal picoseconds before the collision), just a bit toned down.

I would say that space sim has better physics for collision and whatnot but universe sandbox is great at making the outcome. Ex: you shoot the moon at the earth in universe sandbox, it predicts the temperature, the mass and lots of other things, but from what I could tell space sim didn’t to very well for that part
@echosclips4 ай бұрын
@@guestive the smaller object would require a greater force to stop the bigger object, however the force the smaller object carries will minus from the bigger objects velocity, however having greater mass means it will not come to a stop. basically saying if its bigger it needs more force to stop it, however it can slow it down by an amount.

4:42 I must say Universe Sandbox's rings are much better. The lag is caused by the absurd amount of other objects around Saturn, and even if that isn't the cause, there are certain recommendations on how powerful your PC/Mac should be to operate the game. And when you close in on SpaceSim's rings, they are perfectly round spheres, which is unrealistic, unlike when you close in on rings in Universe Sandbox 2, where you see actual asteroids/bodies with realistic shapes. You say space sim is better? I think Universe Sandbox has a better collision detail and for the rings? Universe Sandbox is less laggy then you think. There was a every moon of Saturn so of course its laggy. Space sim is very but laggy but there were no moons, and I think Universe Sandbox has more detailed rings because its particles aren't round like Space sim so I think that Universe Sandbox is the winner.
