Oxbridge colleges shouldn't have their own teams. They do teaching but they don't award degrees. You can't really call an institute that don't award degrees as having university status.

Sorry, but I object to Cameron Quinn's comment that there would never be anything like this on American television. There WAS something EXACTLY like it. It was called College Bowl, and it ran for twelve years on U.S. TV and another 30 years on radio. This month, it was announced that there would be a new run of the show.
