AW thank you! :) SO to sum it up, first year residence is guaranteed (3 residence areas in which you are randomly assigned to but can list a preference), and then you have to apply for upper year residence in which you are put on a waitlist - again you can list your preferences (ie. building and room type). Residence expenses range depending on what building/room type you get but you can find a list of those expenses by searching up "ubc housing prices" or vancouver.housing.ubc.ca/applications/fees-payments/ to browse each residence and their fees! Dorsa I didn’t! I’m only going to my third year - 1st year was guaranteed housing, I didn’t get it second year (I applied for upper year housing but was waitlisted), and then finally got my residence offer this year for my third year!

Dorsa it really depends on what you want and the location! Studios at Ubc are about $1.2 and similarly off campus as well. If you get shared - on campus is about $900 and off campus can go down to $600 so it really depends on the room type and location:/
