What a great idea to tour UI by bike. Worth mentioning would be that the undergraduate library was built underground so as not to shade the Morrow Plots which are the oldest, and still used, experimental crop plots in the US. Perhaps if you consider another video, you could use some of the remaining 'bike roads' through campus which were innovative and fun to ride. My wife and I spent much of the 1980s earning five degrees from UI (sadly not in LAS) and it is stunning to see the changes that have occurred to the campus in the last 35 years. Praise to the Office of Capital Planning and the people with foresight that funded the maintenance and enhancement of the campus aesthetic. Lastly, much of the beauty of place, including the Arboretum, is due to landscape architecture staff and faculty...a shameless plug for a great program and my alma mater.

As an alumni of the class of '65, I really enjoyed your tour. I have only returned to campus once since my graduation because I live in California. It was nice to see buildings on the Quad, to see how much the trees of grown since the elm trees died way back when and to see the new things on campus. Thanks so much!

Wasn't the library designed underground so as to not "throw shade on the corn" - basically to keep sun on our beloved Morrow Plots?

That is correct

I was student from Japan for a few months in the fall of 2002. I lived in Garner Hall and studied language at IEI. I still have fond memories of the city and would like to visit again on a trip. I can't speak difficult sentences, so I use a translation app to write sentences.

Really cool video of a beautiful campus. Best way to get around (& stay in shape) in a campus of this size. Shout out to the LAS staff for putting this together. A real up & comer works in this department...#Paul

Breaks my heart to see the six pack being replaced by 'new and beautiful dorms.' Students will never know how those hot sweaty nights in August and September build your character.

Don't worry the six pack still has dorms with no AC lol
