I was there 1993 - 1996...fabulous picturesque campus, made lots of friends, lovely nights out in Canterbury, used to run with the Canterbury Harriers too! Best time of my life studying there. Would love to get in a time capsule and relive the whole experience. I am middle aged now and still look back on those days as the happiest in my life. I lived on the Whitstable Rd with friends. Had my first ever Indian meal in a restaurant on St Dunstan's and had wonderful nights in Cafe Des Amis (its still there!), The Cricketers, The Black Griffin, The Old Bev, and Keynes college. I went back to campus last year and it was not as picturesque because they had built on it. Shame. Students there now have no idea what they missed in the 90s--- before cell phones and miserable twitter and FB (all of them a menace)

I was there 94 - 97. They do have a good nightclub on site now. Would have been nice to go there instead of hiding students in the boot of my car so seven of us could go to The Works on Sports Fed night lol.

awesome - thank you - I lived next door to the uni in 1991 - I was 16 and used it for cheap drink, gigs and skateboarding! what a special place it was ...

I graduated in 93 and loved my time there. I like the part in the library study hall, where everyone went to leave their books for hours while they went off for coffee. I live in the US now and still miss Canterbury!

This was a great trip down memory lane thanks for posting. I worked as one of the onsite carpenters there from 1989 - 2004. Great times!

Wow. Brings back memories. Was there in the late 80s/early 90s. My first few days were spent navigating around Rutherford College! Never seen so much concrete although was fortunate enough to have a room with a view of the Cathedral. Some of the best years of my life. Miss the pub crawls followed by a stop at Westgate Kebabs, Studio 3 (?), Weds at Christ Church College etc.

What an amazing video. Brings back many memories from my UKC days 1988 to 1992, although I was in the US 1990 to 1991.

Brought back some memories...graduated in 1978 (when the uni was still 'young'). Glad to see my old college, Keynes', duck pond was still going. Thanks for posting David.

Love this vid. As I remember it back in the early 90s. It was a special place, and while it's undergone many changes, both structurally and academically , it's still that special place. Thanks to those who put this vid together. Kent Alumni RULE!

I graduated in 86 so not much different to how it looks in the video. I have been back since and thought that the sight lines of the campus are not quite so pleasing as they were then but of course everything evolves as it had done when I was there from the two original colleges in the 60s. Lovely place and have very fond memories of my time there.

I was there, 1991 was my graduation year, and I don't recognise a single person in that video except for the guy in glasses at 1:13 in Darwin bar who I think was on the Standing Orders Committee. And lest we forget the ugly Darwin chandelier. Shame UKC radio doesn't feature in the video.

As dated as this video looks almost 20 years on, it resembles more how the campus looked when I was there in 2002-2005, as now it looks very different...there has been a lot of development in the last few years it's almost unrecognizable.

I also studied at Kent 2002-2005, and you're right, it looked pretty much the same as it did in 1991 by the look of it. I visited recently and it's changed so much since I graduated.

This is hilarious, the music's awful! The campus looked a lot less sorry for itself 19 years ago, though.
