Ryan and her mother, Donna, have similar coaching styles. They are all about maxing difficulty. Technique and actually hitting are secondary. This used to work (especially for Dunbar, they drop everything and still win), but times are changing. These other schools are improving to where their routines are difficult and they HIT. As a coach, you should recognize what your team is capable of and use that. Ryan had the same problem at Ole Miss.

While I agree with this to a certain extent Donna and Ryan do not have the same similar coaching styles, Donna It’s more of a softy when it comes to coaching as to Ryan she’s tougher, as a former coach and choreographer myself you can only do so much when you take a routine to nationals, mistakes will happen even some of your more tenured and experienced cheerleaders. Once you make the mat for nationals not only is it important to hit every single time, but to also go in there with a mindset of “what if”, and the fact that this happened to the center stunt, says that they were the most consistent, yet look at the mistake that happened.

Donna was my cheerleading coach at Bryan Station. That's been so long ago that her last name was Brown at the time, lol. She married and became Mrs.Martin before I graduated though.

I disagree with this Dunbar never won a championship with a routine that didn’t hit. While they where far ahead of there time and had zero competition for a few of the years that they won they again never won a championship with a routine that didn’t hit.

So this new coach really has got to find her style compared to what the original UK that most of us know. I think she will blossom eventually but that also means pulling out the black book and seeing what the previous coach did in the past.

Amazing saves for the middle group I thought they were going to drop her I so sound that that happened because they were doing amazing I never watch them but for my first tie watching them they did good.

That was a rough showing from Kentucky. Lots of errors. Thank god they had spotters throughout the routine or most of those opening stunts would have crashed and burned.

UCA College Cheerleading Nationals has always been the standard but NCA College Championships make this competition look like a high school show. NCA College Champions Navarro College or runner-up Trinity Valley Community College would wipe out all these D1 squads. Times have changed...
@faiththomas17492 жыл бұрын
Pepsi , respectfully NCA doesn’t have a cheer section in the middle of their routine NCA college nationals ( more representative of all star cheer ) NCA scoring ( 2 days ) : Day 1 : cheer (30 seconds)+ jumps + tumbling +stunts+choreography + pyramids NCA day 2: all of the above EXCEPT THE CHEER ( only thing that carries over ) and deductions UCA : college nationals (2 days ) Day 1: Stunts + choreography + tumbling ( standing and running ) + jumps + cheer = raw score Day 2 : all of the above - deductions = final score
@kendallbedford25232 жыл бұрын
@@faiththomas1749 I agree which is why I prefer UCA OR USA. It seems like a big tumbling show now for NCA and frankly I love the stunting and the actual spirit section.
