wow I love the jewellery rack and the flowers and everything!!!! Your room is so nice and big for some reason I thought uni rooms would be really small! Not true!

I haven't been in the other blocks but I think they're the same. Yh rooms are furnished Bed, closet, desk, notice board and a few drawers. In block C it was 5 people per flat. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi, love your room! My son is started uni in September and has a room in Opal Court. I have a question about the shared kitchens, do you need to bring your own utensils, pans, baking trays etc? Also love the song in the background, one of my favourites!

Thanks for watching, yes he will need to bring all his own stuff even cups, forks and plates as they are not provided. I was in block C and all the Hobbs were induction which meant that when I got there none of my pots worked as I needed induction pots (so check with uni which block he will be in and what hobs they have -saves you buying twice). Remember you are sharing space so dont get two much things, he can wash and reusue. Also, (if you can), get him there early so that he can claim cupboard and fridge shelves, the earlybirds will take the best ones and the last person is stuck with the left overs, I literally had to put some of my stuff under the kitchen sink 😅😂. Oh and bring a toilet brush!

Hi is Opal court sociable for 1st years and whats sharing a kitchen like?
@shannichristie82644 жыл бұрын
Hi, it completely depends on your housemates. I'm a clean person, so I found I was often the one taking out the bins, mopping and washing dishes (urghh). My housemates were good in the sense that if you ask them to wash their stuff they would. We also got along which made things alot easier. My friend who was in another block lived with people who left their stuff out till it got mouldy. So it completely varies depending on who you live with. The kitchen is really spacious though..... My advice is to get to there slightly early and secure cupboards, fridge shelf etc, so you're not stuck with the leftovers. There's are alot of social events such as tea and coffee nights, hot pot, pancake Saturday etc (I met my best friend at pancake Saturday lol). Nixon was more diverse (this is in my opinion) but not much different from Opal Court in terms of events. The most social is Odaby but obviously it's further away. Overall, alot goes on at Opal and you should definately meet friends. Let me know if you have any specific questions about accomodation.

Hey!! How would you describe the bed size? Is it a single or a small double? Im coming this year and have no idea what bedding size to buy
@shannichristie82643 жыл бұрын
Hey, . I am 100% sure it wasn't a small. It should be a small double However all my bedding was double. A small double is only 15cm narrower so don't worry too much. It might be worth checking bed size with the accomodation though, because I am only about 85% sure that wasn't a double. Its been a while since I was there.

Hello, can you leave your stuff in the room over the summer break or do they make you clean it out and take everything back home and then at the begging of the year bring everything back? Londoner here planning to go to uni there👋🏻.
@shannichristie82644 жыл бұрын
Hey, you can stay from September until the contract ends in July. Once the contract ends you need to move out. I think it's because they usually have extra activities such as summer programmes and they need the rooms. Most people live with friends in second year so you probably won't need to bring everything back. 👋 I'm a Londoner too lol, feel free to contact if you need any help.
