It's not so bad. I'm a hardcore introvert, and I really loved going to University of Memphis. Way back in the day, when I went to orientation, I think I skipped out on some of the activities that seemed purely social and not anything important about what I needed to know/do for the school experience. Just don't join a Greek organization if you are very introverted - so much forced social time. My introverted roommate ended up dropping out of her sorority after a semester - it stressed her out to the max.
