To give someone the advice of I wouldn't bring a lot of stuff wait to figure out your layout is sometimes not the best advice to give. Just like when people tells you wait until you move into your apartment and see that's not always the correct advice to give either. One money is a factor, you want to make sure that you're using what you have first (and if your family is helping you move they can always take it back). As someone who stayed in dorm years ago after a house fire and losing everything. And having moved numerous times over the course of the last 23 years that advice you gave is probably not the most practical in regards to that especially if you are from out of town. And sometimes the stores closest to schools are picked over or have barely anything. But good use of space though.
