Thanks for this. As i follow you on Discogs i would often go into your collection after you talk about one in video to see which one to get. But this is easier. Thank you so much for sharing your info and doing these videos.

The Discogs advice is a solid bit of advice as EBay can be a minefield as lack of information from some (not all) sellers is poor to say the least!,,

On the other hand, eBay provides opportunities for really great deals if you have some tolerance for risk and enjoy looking for clues.

I have both Townshend's on SP (Specialty Records Corp), bought them both upon release. Cowboys has E A S T embossed around side B center spindle. Anywho, both sound great. Tim, great channel--keep up the good work.

You the best Tim, you got me into the OGs and mastering engineer, except it's damn difficult to find em here down under, still plenty to look for in eBay.....

Nice touch including the snippet of Tim at the end, seems like a cool guy. It's interesting I have a number of early US pressings of the albums you showed, but I had no idea that Timtom might be in the deadwax, I'll hafta check those and see.

Nice!

Yes, I remember Patrick talking about that. He acted almost like he was committing heresy and he said almost reluctantly that he felt that he might like it better than the original Vertigo 😊 I recently picked up a WWA with the same Vertigo stampers, but I should would love to hear that Timtom!

Last week I bought an album by The Wild Swans (UK) on the Sire label. Amazing album...I would say this album... Bringing Home the Ashes by The Wild Swans (1988) is a masterpiece. Very close to the sound of The Ocean Blue, The Smiths....I reviewed on Discogs who mastered/lacquered the album and found it was T.Y.! Did not know 4 days ago who was T.Y! The album sounds fantastic! Thanks Tim.

Noticed The Sundays' 'Reading, Writing And Arithmetic' over Tim's shoulder! - not sure which pressing it is but the UK Rough Trade original is another Tim Young cut! I like his work but as most of the examples I have are from the 80s they tend to have that slightly brittle tonal balance. Nonetheless, it it's quite impressive what he did to squeeze a LOT of music (from various sources inc. radio sessions) onto the single disc 'Hatful Of Hollow' and make it sound better than expected. Thanks for another great video, Tim!

Hey Tim. I'm truly enjoying your production and the list of featured mastering engineers starting on this video, kind of hit a cord with something I've been thinking recently. I'm new to vinyl and have been spending some time in the last couple of months listening them and buying some. I'm using videos like yours as guidance and it would be great if you could add to your list some up and coming or current talented mastering engineers. I haven't look if there is content in KZbin eon this but for the ones that already value you expertise and track record I would love to hear your take on this. Thanks again.

My UK Timtom London Calling is one of my most prized possessions. I got it for a decent price from a UK seller on Discogs a while back when the exchange rate was very US-friendly.

Thanks again for this one. I think all of Pete's best songs from that time-period went on Chinese Eyes. I love The Who, but I think It's Hard is far and away their worst album. You can tell Pete's heart was not in that at all. I've never seen that album cover for The Smith's Hatful. Is that the UK pressing?

My friend I fear you have missed an opportunity here. With all of the money you spend on your high end equipment and high priced reissues, I couldn’t recommend more strongly that you go ahead and spend the $100 to get a TimTom London Calling. You can also get Sandinista and The Clash for less than that. Anyway, the UK London Calling and Pretenders pressings are noticeably better than the US counterparts. Carry on and keep up the good fight.

Oh I’m not done yet believe me. Actively looking for a UK LC right now. Thanks for weighing in and watching. 👍🏻
