As we move deeper into 2024, one of my early highlights is last Saturday night's Robyn show here in Fort Collins, Colorado. Also.....we have a new member of our family here on campus!

I watched a lot of Robyn's livecasts from his home during the pandemic. He's one of the few who can pull off a solo acoustic show and keep it thoughtful and entertaining...beautiful music.

“You think I’m a thug?” Hey Tim, glad you finally got to see Hitchcock again! I was fortunate to see him in March of BOTH 2022 and 2023 in St. Paul, the former a modest turnout during COVID and the latter a packed house. His voice, guitar playing and surreal humor remain in top form. Coincidentally just heard his recent Patreon release of the “Ghost In Sunlight”, a searing, emotional gut punch of a song. I hope he comes back to the Twin Cities again soon. He’s a living legend and we’re lucky that he continues to create inspired music, poetry and art after all these years.

I've seen him live numerous times. Solo, with the reunited Soft Boys, with Billy Bragg and with Grant Lee Phillips. Wonderful shows all.

Big fan of Robyn Hitchcock! Saw him open up for R.E.M. for their GREEN tour. He played both acoustic and electric guitars solo. Incredible! Think QUEEN ELVIS was his current album at the time.

A great review have Fort Collins on my places to visit. Actually having a martini with you in your record room would be a dream come true Lol The last photo of the dogs very touching. My wife will go to the end of the earth to rescue an animal. We have 2 rescue dogs Pit bulls and have fostered nothing but Love and Loyalty. Thank You

If I could recommend only two records from Robyn Hitchcock.... 'I Often Dream of Trains' and 'Fegmania'... Try 'I Wanna Destroy You' (Soft Boys) for a little morning wake up music. Nice to see a little attention thrown Robyn's way. Cool dude...

I only discovered Robyn from 2022's Shufflemania sometime last summer, loved it and followed him on Instagram. Then had the odd experience of reading about the passing of his daughter as the first Instagram update. As with any artist that somehow passes you by, the back catalog is daunting, but I will throw one album at a time on my phone and slowly take a deeper dive. I'm glad you got to see him, albeit solo. My pandemic cancelled show that I never got to see was Mapache (laconic, California-chill harmonies a la The Everly Brothers, Grateful Dead)...one day.

Tommy Keene in the background! I thought I was the only one. Big fan? So sad that he passed so young.

Thanks for sharing. I love Robyn and always appreciate your poster in the background of your videos. I flew down to San Francisco earlier this month for his Syd Barrett tribute show. I saw him in Portland just before the lockdown and a few times last year in Seattle and Portland.

I would love to see Robyn play again. You and your phone did a great job with both the video and especially the audio; phones sure have come a long way in quality of their recordings. Of course the room helps alot. Also as the previous commenter mentioned, it's great to see Tommy Keene behind you. Have you featured him previously? He is/was a sadly overlooked artist but isn't that always the way...

I only have two Tommy Keene records - he’s a very cool artist and gone too soon. I loved him on lead guitar with Paul Westerberg - there’s a great live performance from Letterman on YT.

Love me some Robyn, and Soft Boys. 20-25 years ago his online store, Museum of RH, was having a close out sale, 50% off everything. I ordered everything I did not already have on LP, even some OOP titles.

That puppy is in a good home no doubt. Man, $30... that's a steal. Tell me, has Fort Collins escaped the plague that is TicketMaster? Here in Reno... no luck... John Fogerty came over a year ago and while not a huge fan of the guy I thought it would be nice to see him. Tickets started at $45 which was reasonable I thought, but that was before all the fees and the "ticketmaster tax" as my total was over $80... which was a bit too much for me especially knowing that most of the money is not going to the artist so I passed. And it seems all the venues here (mostly casinos, hey you're in Nevada) have signed exclusive deal with Ticketmaster as it seems here is no way to get a ticket without going through that dreaded website. Maybe I should consider moving to Fort Collins ;-) Cheers and thanks for another great video.

Yep....we run into Ticketmaster anytime we want to see a show in Denver. Thankfully, the small venues in Fort Collins and also a couple in Boulder are independently owned and tickets are always very reasonable - not to mention great sight lines and acoustics!

Just picked up 2 tickets for the North Hampton Massachusetts show 25.00 each. On the other hand picked up 2 tickets to see Alanis Morissette and Joan Jett at the Xfinity Center Mansfield Massachusetts through Ticketmaster 385.00 Lol
