Same! I don't understand... It might be because your voice is so _you?_ Like, it's a literal part of your body and idk, many people are already self conscious about their speaking voices. Maybe we also think it sounds pretentious? Usually the people you hear singing are professional singers and maybe we don't want people thinking we believe we also are _great_ singers ... Let's normalise singing (or even humming, you also rarely hear people hum)
@hollymclellan17984 жыл бұрын
Singing is usually meant to be amazing.. there’s a fine line where someone will sing in a movie/tv show and it is supposed to be incredible without trying. No one realises to sound good you need to think of having a healthy voice, knowledge and technique. It takes time and hard work, like any other hobby, to be good at. Sing as much as you want and don’t worry about how you sound, try and get better if you want to or just have fun. Take care of your voices and drink lots of water and don’t strain yourself xx

"Is there a thing called a 20 year old crisis?" YES. At some point you get to the point where you have to focus on a career and you don't know which one, you are scared that whatever you do leads to nowhere. Also there is probably going to be a point when you will be disappointed by someone and you will have do rebuild your trust in humanity, that can be a relationship or a friendship. Usually that person would be someone you projected something on that would be a replacement for your family home since you start going more into the world and searching to build a home yourself. But that is normal, it usually takes a few shots until you find the right person to do that with. At some point you will also experience a lot of setbacks. In school everything worked out for you, you had good grades, you got far. Now you have your college degree and no-one hires you. They don't want you. You go through a phase of really bad self esteem until you learn to be less affected by this stuff. Maintaining friendships will be harder the more you get into your 20s. Everyone starts having families? Great jobs? Moving everywhere in the world? At some point you will wonder if you have any friends left. (But you have, you just need to stop being too shy to ask everyone to do something). The worst thing is at some point you will not believe that anyone feels like you do, because everyone seems so happy and content, successful in job and relationship and just everything and you will be really scared to open your mouth and say "Hey actually everything is kinda shitty right now for me." because you get intimidated SO MUCH. But once you do, you will see that everyone feels like that. And you will be able to talk about these experiences and bond with your fellow 20somethings. And you will find ways out of the situations that are shitty and you will be so proud and learn so much about yourself. It's shit, but it's great.

I love this discussion! However, just something to flag! As someone who suffers with horrendous intrusive thoughts, which i fight everyday as they tell me things in which i never want to become. This is something to keep in mind when saying statements like "your thoughts are your actions" as for me, this is terrifying. I completely agree with the law of attraction and I have truly seen a difference in myself as i shift my mindset. I love this narrative and its so powerful but here's a message for my intrusive thought folks: you are NOT your thoughts. They are separate from intention and the fact that you're distressed is proof in itself. stay safe and keep fighting
@marijapaskeviciute3654 жыл бұрын
Yes! As someone with anxiety I completely understand. I guess we can use our thoughts as tools when needed, but also keep in mind that thoughts are just thoughts and not reality? I hope it makes sense.
@epochabi4 жыл бұрын
Marija Paškevičiūtė makes so much sense. thinking positively is great! Intrusive thoughts are not talked about enough and its hard to feel out of control of your own brain but creating that disconnect can make then more manageable!
@marijapaskeviciute3654 жыл бұрын
@@epochabi I don't think I've had intrusive thoughts (or maybe I'm not 100% sure what it is), but sometimes when I have anxiety I just can't get the thoughts or compulsive need to check sth out of my head, so I feel you. It really helps to know that it's just a thought, I am more than my thoughts, and also stop worrying about the fact that I have them. To try to just accept them, don't fight them. I think it's similar to what you wrote :)
@TY-qj1fh4 жыл бұрын
If you are recognizing that your intrusive thoughts do not represent who you are/what you want to become, then doesn't that in a way show that thoughts are powerful? You're fighting your thoughts with thoughts. Just want to add that these are just my two cents, and this is in no way intended to disregard you or put you down - in fact, I sympathize with your struggles, and I think it's amazing that you can be that strong and willing to keep going. You seem like you are doing a wonderful job of keeping a good mindset, and I wish you well.
@epochabi4 жыл бұрын
T Y absolutely! thats the biggest way to cope. its very much the way that they are completely out of my control and can be very distressing. not giving them power is the best way to help with them, i find. thank you so much and i hope you have a great day/night.

Dear Jade, I met you in KZbin a few months ago and i am so grateful that I once clicked on a video of yours. You show me that the world is not just about school, but life is about family, being happy and having fun in life. Your videos give me motivation and I start to believe in myself, something I've never done. I have always been a very quiet girl, and had become very depressed for a while because I always wanted to get very high marks at school, but that was so wrong, of course school is important and it opens doors for the future, but what is a future without being happy. Being happy is the key to the door of the future. Thanks Jade for the self-love, for the motivation, for the comfort, but what i am most grateful for is that i feel so happy after watching your videos. Sometimes you can make a person so happy with something so small. A few beautiful words spoken by a beautiful person are worth thousands of words. Jade you motivated me so much with this video. It really felt like we were on a date together, it felt like talking to a friend, especially at the moment when you asked about what you think successful lifestyle is and when you read that passage from the book. I have felt quite depressed and unmotivated lately, I was waking up feeling depressed. I am thinking that I’m wasting my time, but at the same time I don’t have the motivation to do anything. Your words about finding happiness in any given moment, and creating that happiness for yourself, in your mind, was like EXACTLY what I needed to hear. From you. Because I look up to you, and you inspire me so much. I really really appreciate that you are being so honest and so lovely to us, by sharing this experience and sending so much love and positivity through your videos, you can’t imagine how much it helped me. 🥺And when you said that you also had some deep problems that we think you don’t have. But you do, just like any of us. And you are not giving up, or letting yourself down because you would want to be with other people, or in another place, but instead “acting as if you are living the life you want yourself to live” ❤️👏oh my god, that’s unbelievable. Thank you so much. I really admire you, and thank you for unknowingly helping me today and making my day. I am literally going to wake up at 4am tomorrow and go on a date with myself ❤️I love your videos Jade.

11:33 - I've met psychologists who remind us "Thoughts are not reality." Mental health issues can produce thoughts of despair that are not in sync with reality and perhaps attributing too much power to thoughts, in such circumstances, would be detrimental to healing. I get your point on engineering thoughts to produce specific outcomes, but attributing too much power to thoughts can backfire as well. But I get what you're trying to accomplish by reminding us to be more mindful of our thoughts.

I don't mean to sound like that a hole, but it's really accurate what you said about mindsets. My friend is extremely privileged, lives in a developed country, has a good family, a good environment, good...a lot of things. She's rarely stressed about casual things as I do. Like the negative things happening around me on a daily that I cannot ignore because that would be ignoring my reality, but she doesn't understand that her privilege allows her to not think about measly stuff. And it makes sense that she thinks positively, and as soon as I pointed out negative stuff she said "But you should think about change, we're heading to a better future." Well...my surroundings definitely aren't. her's are...and it makes me so so so sad that my 'personality' or 'personal reality' is so negative because of my surroundings. I would love to 'shift my mindset' but...it just seems impossible...sure I can be positive, but at the end of the day, I come back to the reality that I cannot escape this negativity...and it sucks. Sorry for this sad-ish rant. Wondering if other people feel the same way... :(

Thank you so much for making this video! I am dealing with an emotionally (and sometimes physically) abusive family and I have let them make my mental health really bad and made me feel like I don’t matter. They believe that friends make life worse too, and discourage me from making them. That has made it hard for me to make and keep friends, so I’m usually alone most of the time. I tend to get really lonely and sad most days and sometimes I wonder if the world would even care if i was gone. I usually cry myself to sleep most nights, and I don’t really take care of myself anymore. I am ashamed of how sad and anxious I’ve become but watching your videos help me get motivated to do things to make me feel better. I’m hoping I will be really happy and confident one day. My dream is to move abroad after high school and go to college in the uk to become a filmmaker or author. I have realized I’m the only one who can chase those dreams. I can’t have anyone else do it for me, so I just have to keep going. Watching your videos and especially this one have helped me to keep going and keep making art and writing stories and taking care of myself. Thank you so much! Also if you’re struggling right now, just know it will get better. Just keep going, you got this! 💛I love you! 🙂

I so agree with what you said about your alone-date. I've been in a relationship for just over a year now, but I'm not happy. I realised I'm just not with the right person, and I was so much happier before when I was single. I am going to break free soon, and I can't wait to be on my own again.

Thank you, I really loved this video. I have always been a self-confident child but now, after a kind of break-up, I find myself insecure and lonely without ever having had this feeling before... sometimes, although you already know it, you just need someone to tell you: "You can be alone and happy".

Your content has always been amazing, but recently, your content has been so inspiring, positive, uplifting, and motivating in such a way that I always feel like after I watch your videos, I leave with a new perspective and a new positive energy. Because of you, I’ve stopped caring what other people think and catch myself in those negative thought patterns. It’s just so nice to see that you put your completely real and raw self online and that really taught me that spending time trying to be someone you’re not is such a waste of time. I just can’t thank you enough for your content. I’ve been watching you since almost the very beginning and I’m so grateful I found your videos. ❤️ PS: I’m having LASIK surgery today and when I saw yesterday that you said you were uploading, I was so so nervous that I was gonna miss it before my surgery. (I can’t look at screens for 24 hours after.) I woke up so so nervous but then I saw you uploaded and this gave me such a distraction that left me feeling so positive for my surgery.

I was watching this video yesterday... after watching this I was so happy . I decided that I'll wake up early and will see the sunrise and spend time with myself . Today I woke up early said my prayers then Grabbed my water bottle and went to the Terrance . It was so beautiful outside , i was listening the birds chirping , the sky was so mesmerising, clouds were changing their shapes I walked there for 10 minutes and I was just feeling it then I sat down and was watching the sunrise . Never felt so happy 😄 .

I love so much when girls and women aren’t ashamed of their bodies in pajamas! I grew up in a strict family where all the sexuality must remain private (and bras were a fixed rule), but being this free is freaking the best!!! Also it connects you to your feminine energy and makes you feel so powerful :)

I think it's a good idea because you develop self love and self care in the process. Love your content, Jade.🤗 Yes. You don't have to be with someone in order to be happy. Being content with your own presence and finding your own self worth is important. Who else thinks Jade has a beautiful voice. Not that I know the song but it's so wholesome and inspiring.
