Notes:
This is one of the earliest pieces of music that could be considered an "anime mashup" on KZbin. The goal of this upload was to recreate this classic as faithfully as possible, which encompasses its structure and overall mixing volume. Minor edits were made to give more breathing space for the overlapping vocals, using subtle volume automation and cleaner slices. Interestingly, the structure of the original was rather unconventional as the first half of the verse is taken from the second verse and the second half is taken from the first verse. The original mashup artist also did not use any of the verse segments from the original instrumental, and instead used the instrumental chorus throughout the verses. I presume that this was done to keep the instrumental's energy level high. The original also has luv(sic) pt.3's vocals looped twice to extend the chorus. The original mashup artist also overlapped the vocals at the end, likely to give the piece a climax of sorts and make it different from the previous parts. Personally, I would not have structured the mashup in this way, but I think the original piece aged well. I'm just happy to give it a fresh coat of paint from a quality and listening perspective while preserving the rustic charm of the original. This piece was a huge inspiration for me in my very early days as a mashup artist. I hope the original mashup artist is doing well with their life.
