What an incredible interview series. Thanks so very much to Joe Morris and to you also. Much appreciated. This has been a very informative interview. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I've enjoyed this interview series so much, Ramdino, and I'm only an armchair hiker. I can just imagine how helpful it has been for those who are involved with the AT.

Another great interview with Joe Morris. Again, Morris has perfectly described the intricacies of trailwork and the bureaucracy that trail workers and clubs have to deal with. Nice to see the GMC's Dave Hardy get a mention. He was a long-time friend of mine. I have maintained part of the AT in NH's Whites for 30+ years.

First thing I did after I finished the AT was to volunteer to maintain a trail section. I too live too far from the AT, but the Mid State Trail in PA is close by. My husband and I have maintained a 4 1/2 mile section for 12 years. I appreciate good trail and every trail needs volunteers! Give back!

That’s amazing! It’s great to hear you’re giving back to the trails. Volunteer work like yours makes such a big difference in keeping these paths beautiful for everyone!

Bob is retired Air Force and he taught at an At Risk school in Vermont. He bought Kincora Hostel in 1995 when he and his wife moved to Tennessee. He didn't work for the Park Service. He is one of a handful of living Appalachian Trail HoFers Class of 17 AT HOF and Museum

So how is the Creeper Bike Trail getting 660 Million Dollars to fix 17 miles in Virginia??
@snodrog519 күн бұрын
"This appropriation comes from part of a $5.87 billion grant to the U.S. Forest Service as part of the American Relief Act of 2025.This money is part of the federal government’s response to the consequences of wildfires, hurricanes, and other natural disasters from across the country."

I like this discussion but it’s one sided. It’s your guest view. He kind of bad mouths other groups and no one is there from the other groups to explain their situation. It’s kind of what cable news has become. I was an essential worker and I worked on the big picture and I am sure our actions were often questioned. Though i was paid my crew and I worked like dogs night and day. I am not saying his views are incorrect but it’s only his views. Again thanks for keeping us posted on the AT. I am a member of the Green Mountain Club and they make it super easy to donate. They also keep us posted on trail upgrades they perform. This all said if you watch KZbin videos on the Long Trail you will read comments of people bad mouthing the GMC not doing enough.
@Ramdinohikes18 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment and viewing. I would agree its one sided, but that's for a reason. I wanted to get his comments from his viewpoint. It was an interview and not a debate. I wanted to hear from the front line troop. I'm sure you can find the bureaucrats touting there work without my help.

I'd prefer not to have so much complaining about the politics of these people who control the at trail.
@Ramdinohikes19 күн бұрын
You mistake politics for bureaucracy. No mention of politics was a part of the discussion.
