The vocals have this inflection and accent that makes me believe that it may come from an asian city pop song, and as is the case with some city pop songs is that some of them have english lyrics mixed in with the lyrics in their native language. Also the reason why lyrics don’t turn up results is because with many city pop songs, the lyrics aren’t written or saved anywhere besides maybe a vinyl sleeve for the project the song is on
@MirageOneiric9 ай бұрын
Omg, that makes a lot of sense, this does feel like a song from some Asian country since we used to have a lot of songs like this back in the late 80s!! The vocals reminds me a lot of the Japanese band Omega Tribe, even this one Indian singer I forgot the name of whose voice is exactly the same as this
@Tenshii_Artii9 ай бұрын
Now that you mentioned it, I wouldn’t be surprised. If you look back in Japanese songs in the 80s, some of the singers have almost near perfect fluency in English, it’s sometimes hard to even tell right off the bat that it’s an Asian singer. Unless you actually look at them singing the song, and got notice the hint of their accents. One thing that 80s songs also sometimes have, is Asian Influences. Much like ‘A Taste of Honey’ with their cover of ‘Tsukiyaki’ One example I can also think of this, is a singer Tatsuro Yamashita. My first song I discovered him from was ‘Mermaid’, and I didn’t even realize it was by a Japanese guy until my mother pointed it out.

THIS IS A COMMENT FROM ANOTHER USE I AM FOLLOWING UP ON(ulterior motive 1993) .the story line makes sense . The music is similar , with the same crappy audio . It does reference romance , which can tie back into the "counting sheep in the sky". The cast of actors does also reference how there is alot of above fate , and it is a romance based movie. The "caught up in a world of lies" can also be connected vaguely with the trailer scenes , of the people being lovey dovey as a rando walks by. I'm pasting this here , from a comment i made , just so you can see it.

It's gotta be a japanese singer, the "of lies" seals it for me. The way the letter "f" is pronounced in japanese is different than it is in most western countries. For English you press your teeth directly up to your bottom lip and it produces a harsher sound, but for japanese the teeth rest just behind the bottom lip creating a softer tone more similar to the "h" sound.

The only way we can continue the search is if Carl92 wakes up from his eternal sleep and tells us where he recorded this song. Because all he said in his original post was that he only remembers recording the song on a CD while learning how to capture audio on his computer via a microphone or something, somewhere in 1999 or something. Some people have speculated that this song might have originated from an MTV Broadcast given the Pilot Tone which is only present in MTS Broadcasts in a selective few countries. If Carl92 steps up and tells us where he recorded this song, then we could eventually get another search going again. Also I know what you're thinking: "What if Carl92 doesn't remember where he recorded this song?" Well, trying to remember what you found is one thing. Where you found it is another thing. It's not that hard to remember where you recorded something. Plus, we're only asking for a Country here, not the exact Longitude and Latitude of the location where Carl92 recorded it.

The singer sounds alot like Romeo void, though my mom says it could be a cover, she doesn't recognize those words. It could be a cover. The obvious thing could be that it wasn't mainstream, which does make it harder. I hope we canfind it by next year ❤

As someone who’s hunted down 80s songs before this one is so frustrating because there’s no leads 🥲 it definitely is from the 80s- I feel like it was most likely a small artist or college band that got their song played on a college station? Maybe? Because a lot of those kinds of groups would record demo tapes at a studio that would be professional but they wouldn’t get released on a larger scale. I hope someone comes forward!

Just happened upon this whole bit of lost media (not really my thing), but from a music industry standpoint; could this have been a demo song for a singer/pop star that was never picked up? That could explain why no one can find it officially. A lot of songs are written/demo recorded by production teams that would then shop it out to different big artists. I'm not sure how common that was in the 80s/90s timeline we're looking at here, but I know it happens all the time in the music industry today. Does anyone know if the original poster had any music industry or producer ties? I really hope the song can be found! It sounds like a bop~

yes as it would have been released anyways because the linndrum was for sure used in the studio, and is only reserved for higher artists overall. Who knows

idk why but the first thought i had when i first listened to this (the original) was that it was some song from an 80s or 90s cartoon (like jem and holograms) that either was from a very obscure show or was a song that didn't make the cut, which is why it sound familiar to some people. Plus the bad audio (For me at least) sounds like something someone would record from their old phone, or maybe a VHS that went through a lot of gen loss.

I’m convinced that this song alongside the most mysterious song on the internet is just from an alternate universe/timeline that managed to intersect with our own, that’s why nobody can find the origin, with this song coming from a timeline where the evolution of technology started exactly 53 years later than it did in ours due to some weird event, leading to 2023 being the new 80s (I’m not crazy I just find this stuff cool)
