1:42 In my experience the best primer is the lack of storage time between sanding and curing of the powder. By this I mean if the sand/glass blaster is in under the same roof as the powder coating I see no need for priming, less is actually more, if you are to move the item from one location to the next it's good practice to put on primer prior to leaving the glass blaster location prior to transport.

Did you build your own oven? What are the dimensions? I am starting to do PC here in Chicago and was asked about race car chassis’. Wondering if I built my own what would a decent size over look like in size.

That’s called Aztec silver in Aus and we do a lot of this colour on Ute trays and canopy’s and usually everyone here coats it really thick to get that really textured finished to make it hard wearing. Just curious why don’t you pump the air flow and powder cloud up?

I own Mike's Custom Coatings LLC in Kentucky, I completely understand what you mean when a customer says no primer, The viewers don't understand that not every customer wants to pay that additional coat of primer. Even though we recommend it they still don't want to fork out the $ for it. Looks great btw.

How much would this cost to do ? I hope I’m not stopping over the 3:33 lines by ask, me my truck will be repainted using two main colors back half will gloss red custom chrome and front will be gloss white and a little gloss black through the white is a few play. I would do the red on the rear half and white on the front to match the truck, be doing doing two coats primer, 2-3 base and 3 plus clear.

hey i powdercoat dental equipment for a job. i was wondering why you guys run such weird settings compared too us. we run the same gun setup but i personally spray sheet metal parts at 50 powder or 65 powder at 4.5- 4.7 air on straight part setting unless theres a curve then i go too the curve setting and run 65-69 powder 4.6 4.9 air and more experienced painters run around 50-70 on sheet metal for powder and 5 for air

i posted this before watching more i see your avoiding star bursting so you can bring the gun closer and get into craves

When I used to powdercoat wheels I found that the glass grit got stuck in the alloy. So I had to wire wheel the glass grit off. This polished the wheel which is not creating a key for the coat. Are you saying you can blast then blow off the remnants and then powder coat?

If you don't use glass, yes.

A shame that the owner didn't go that extra step and dress up the welds and flashing before he sent it to be powder coated. It would have definitely taken the chassis to next level. You did an outstanding job considering the "before" shot...

You don’t powder coat a frame for it to look good. No one is going to see it and if they do it’s in the dark in an uncomfortable position. It’s just a durable coating to prevent rust.

Some that ask you to do jobs must of woke up and hit themselves in the head with a stupid stick to many times. Also the ones making the comments as a powder company like yours don’t cut corners, want to do primer, the double base and the clear. This is to make sure that anything, mainly a vehicle frame which gets hit with all that road spray/salt all over the underside don’t find a spot to kill that amazing job you just did.
