Something really impressive you notice in slo-mo is the skill of the stunt guys. The guy that had his "neck broken" by the boot, had his head pinned to his chest before he even hit the floor, making sure the only thing that hit was his shoulders. Lots of little things like this I'd never see watching normally

The guy who got stabbed in the back of the neck The operative completely missed with the knife (on purpose obv) and then he rotated his wrist so the bendy boi was pressed against the back of his neck, but it was done so quickly I'd never have seen it if not for slo-mo

When this movie first came out it was very popular among several of my jujutsu students (Japanese Jujutsu where we strike, kick, throw, choke/strangle, stab, cut, etc.). While obviously choreographed for maximum entertainment, I pointed out to said students that it's an illustration of how in a real fight you have fast, multiple attacks coming from different planes and sometimes multiple attackers. It's a fun, cool movie. Thanks for covering it!

@@datemasamune2773 - I realized it wasn't actual jujutsu, though I couldn't remember the name of the art in question (silly me), but yes, there is a lot of similarities. Good afternoon Chris, Just discovered your channel this AM. Absolutely outstanding!! I just had to subscribe! I spent just about all of my working life as a Physician Assistant (40+ years - 1974-2010 Duke University)). The first 20 years were in a relatively small town (population of 20,000) with a fairly large Physician presence. There were approximately 25 MD's although with the exception of 2 General Surgeons there were no distinct "Specialists". In those early years we actually had a General Surgeon (Austin McCarthy - brother of Eugene McCarthy - Senator and a one time Presidential candidate) who decided to start doing Total joint procedures (hip and knee only). He was actually quite good at these procedures and did well over a thousand of them while I was at the facility. With Specialists eventually being added along with personnel changes I spent my last very enjoyable 10+ years as a Certified Orthopedic Physician Assistant (COPA). We also had some difficulties with local DC's who were demanding Hospital privileges in order to begin "adjusting" neonates! Two or three MD's with whom I was associated took on this absolutely preposterous idea as a personal crusade to prevent its' initiation. It worked and privileges were never given. In my clinic we also had several instances of local DC's referring their (usually quite young) patients who had been Dx'd with a malignancy of some sort with their parents having been, unbelievably, talked into trusting their DC could actually "cure" these little doomed sweethearts. Of course by the time these children were seen by providers in my clinic it was, obviously, far too late. The really unfortunate thing here is that the DC's were simply practicing as they were taught - evidently protecting them by avoiding lawsuits and / or criminal charges. You are an absolutely terrific breath of fresh air!! All the very best to you and yours, Terry

I got hit in the head with 800+# of steel in the back of my head. The object in question was a 4x4 truck frame cut in half with all the front axle parts, suspension, brakes etc. still attached to it. The part that struck me was the inside part of the frame where the two edges form a U shape. I was loading this into the back of a pickup truck with another guy. We had the axel end butted up against the wheel wells of the PU truck and were going to rest the frame part on the cab and strap it down. However the other guy, a 6'4" 250# man lost control of his side which swung around with the force of a gorilla swinging a baseball bat striking me in the back of my skull. It hit me so hard I was knocked completely off me feet and slammed face first into the bed of the truck. At this point both of the people there thought I was dead, and as I pushed myself out from under that mess thought I was falling to the ground in a heap of dead. The look on their faces when I stood straight up was like they seen a ghost, one of them passed out. The guy with me having been in the military asked me and helped me to the ground where he proceeded to test the dilation of my eyes. I responded normally and the look of disbelief on his face was clear. He said, "I don't even think you suffered a concussion!" I remember the pain at the tip of my middle finger being the only discomfort I felt, despite the two rather large lumps on the back of my head. Both of which were gone the next day. My associate was kinda freaking out, he thought what he witnessed was impossible. He said, "the sound of that hitting you made me puke in my mouth a little!" So how is it that I was able to walk away from what should have caused severe head trauma with only superficial injuries?
