Me and my my wife just happened to stumble on to your videos and discovered that you had gone through some of the places we have been going for the last 38 yrs, we've been over landing for that long YES never ever did I think anyone else was posting about it your videos are very enjoyable maybe we'll see you in the mountains someday be safe, PS I hope you're new build will be up to the task and capable of withstanding off road abuse.

Grant, Thanks for the thorough GX content--exactly what I'm looking for. Consider OnX for offroad navigation via the infotainment display. if your build includes equipment that needs to be switched, Garmin's switch is pretty great. Its use of Bluetooth eliminates the need for firewall hassles. AND the switch can be controlled via Android Auto or Car Play on the infotainment screen--so no siting and mounting a separate switch controller. 2024 GX550, 4400 miles, Puget Sound. SUBSCRIBED!

honestly curious if much offroad advantage was gained with the lift. be awesome to have before/after flex comparison. Stock seemed to do great! no doubt though, the GX and LC250 need more ground clearance! how does it ride on the street? thanks for the video!
@SixOverlandКүн бұрын
Definitely more clearance, tire droop and the shocks are much better/beefier. I wish I’d taken measurements while stock for comparison. I do have a comparison video/side by side of the same obstacle that I’ll be loading as on Instagram and maybe as a KZbin short. Stock was pretty darn good… but we can tell the difference for sure. Very cool Icon setup. What do the mods do to the warranty?

@@Build-jr6sc Here’s some Legal-eez “Passed by Congress in 1975 - Section 102(c), 15 U.S.C. 2302(c), the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (MMWA) prevents manufacturers from using disclaimers on warranties in an unfair or misleading manner. The MMWA prohibits tying arrangements that condition coverage under a written warranty on the consumer's use of an article or service identified by brand, trade, or corporate name unless that article or service is provided without charge to the consumer.” “The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits product manufacturers from conditioning consumer warranties on the use of any original equipment part or service. Furthermore, a manufacturer can only deny warranty coverage if it can demonstrate that a non-original equipment part or related service caused a defect to occur in the original product. In the case of motor vehicles, new car manufacturers have ignored these conditions outlined in Magnuson-Moss and have misled consumers to believe that they must have dealer service shops install only original equipment replacement parts or fear having their new car warranty voided.” - Autocare Association (autocare.org) The lift has its own warranty.

First thing I did with mine is take off those dumb side-steps while I wait for my sliders to come in. It makes it look better and taller. Do you get any driver warnings on the dash from disconnecting the factory shocks?
@SixOverland3 күн бұрын
@@cshader2488 Sliders are definitely up next. OEM Shocks? That’s part of why this is an R&D kit. No warnings for disconnecting, but if the battery is disconnected/reconnected, the system will run a list of checks and will notice the OEM shocks not being there. There is a way to trick the system in the interim… but a permanent fix is in development from what I understand. Hasn’t been an issue for us thus far.

It looks like you have a matching spare, so did they have to modify anything to get that tire in the spare location?
@SixOverland2 күн бұрын
@@SethHalstead Good question and no. The spare location will fit a full size 34” tire with some gentle coaxing… but not a 35”. The lift however does create clearance for a 35”… so once we get a bumper tire carrier… our next set of tires will be bigger. Thanks for watching!
@SethHalstead2 күн бұрын
@SixOverland spare tire size fit is a big question on the forum right now, but a 285/70/18 measures about 33.75 inches, so did you fit that in the spare location? Also, great video and great looking GX.
