But defence minister (at that time) Nirmala Sitaraman ,the great ,ridiculed HAL's capacity . She said HAL cannot produce more than two or three aircraft per year . She was praising Dassault ,while HAL was shown in poor light . HAL has produced hundreds of various MiGs , Sukhois , MIRAGES. Jaguars ,Helicopters , space craft engines for ISRO etc .The critics are in government.

tejas has one of the most advanced flight control laws if not the best flight control laws in a 4.5 generation jet. 4 computers simultanously command tejas under all conditions. just ask someone who writes programmes for single thread control. but in case of tejas programmers have to deal with 4 computers. our sukhoi russian jet is a semi analog fighter. while tejas is all governed by zeros and one. flying tejas is like playing a video game. so a pilot is basically negotiating with on board computer and its the computer that never lets a pilot go beyond its limits. these technologies are completely denied. no country will help u develop such technologies. ofcourse its just one part of the technology. but worth talking about as this technology is really complex.

Let's be honest. It's barely made. At a rate of 2-3 /yr so far. Never failed in operations because hasn't been part of any yet. Never crashed because it only flew 5-10 k hours so far in the last 20 years. The M2K and Flanker squadrons rake up those numbers in a year. Also, it absolutely has had mishaps. Grp. Cpt. Varun Singh was conferred with the Shaurya Chakra for showing incredible skill and courage in safely landing an LCA that experienced rapid depressurization of the cockpit during a sortie in 2020. It's his bravery and the skill of others like him that has kept the zero-crash record of the LCA.

In every other pragmatic sense, the LCA program is a textbook casestudy in fighter jet program mismanagement and incompetence of state-run organizations. The fact that we barely have 2 operational squadrons of LCAs 23 years after first flight is a matter of national shame and disgrace. Not something to be proud of.

​​@@isuzu343Current production rate of LCA Tejas is 12 jets per year not 2-3. Please update yourself. We have more than 2 squadrons operational. And no matter the "shaurya" if a jet is gone beyond recovery point it will crash. Otherwise lots of Mig-21 crashes would have been prevented using 'shaurya'. The pilots who died didn't lack any. Also if you are drowing of shame keep it to yourself don't spill it on to others.

Philippines can always divide their budget. Instead of buying 12 Gripens or old F-16s They can get 6 Gripens and 12 Tejas mk1a in the same budget since Tejas costs half of Gripen, they can have 18 fighter jets in total.

I am from Pakistan and impressed by the INDIAN TEJAS very fast and good manuverable... every machine has a purpose that's why it's designed for it... JF17 also made not for only to compete TEJAS could serve many purpose..."its not machine that fight it's the person behind it who fight"... but after all if you compare the both IAF and PAF history... PAF proved to be the best in descipline, excellence and war air superiority ... not because of the SIZE but quality of FIGHTER PILOTS the brains behind the machines...
