How many cars were destroyed here? While some looked like they were junk and rusted out, a lot of these looked like nice cars.

Don’t be fooled by the fancy paint work, the vast majority are beyond saving and full of rust. They’re welded back together to race and any parts of value are sold to collectors etc

Some of them are probably stolen - it has been known.

1:07 The track marshalls should have put up the red flags immediately when a car falls to bits like that. How the hell did that car (*29) get past Scrutineering. It is the sort of event that must make a racer's blood run cold. 'Did I just shunt some poor bastard into A&E'.

Agree with you there. People reckon it may have split like that due to it being a cut and shut job but neither the driver or scrutineers noticed anything to suggest it was. Bit of a scary one but luckily no harm done
