Good video. I’m a local flatbed driver in Connecticut. Just picked up a side gig on the weekends doing this for a construction company. This will help me a lot thank you.

Once you go Rolloff you won’t go back! Money is good and it’s a fun job
@joshuaandrews35634 жыл бұрын
I'm a rolloff driver and this is spot on. Don't let all the cable out because you assume the box won't roll. Especially when in a sensitive area like in front of a house because it could roll right into the house or whatever. Sometimes you can drop a box and it pushes the truck as you let off.

Thank you! Once you get into it , you get hooked Plus if you get the accounts like Home Depot, target, Walmart, they throw brand new stuff out! As you dump you can ck the load and find unused unbroken items More at the back of the box it doesn’t crush.

How long did it take you to learn everything? I just got a job doing roll off and I have no experience. So I'm looking up training videos to help me

Fork Lift It really don’t take long It’s more about just getting used to the size of the truck .. turning radius and what kind of “lift” axle the truck has.. The main thing is if u have driven straight trucks... you should be ok If you have driven triaxles that’s even better.. so then u start getting into loading boxes.. the light ones try to just think of them as heavy. This way u get some practice. The hard ones will be the wet compactors (find cardboard to cover yourself because dirty water will come out and get on u) They are heavy, you have to load the unit on truck, then pull away from the unit it is connected to Go to open area put down turn around so the heavy side is at the cab. Then u need to do the save thing in the transfer station before you dump. Boxes” 20yrs of concrete and dirt will be the tricky ones... you need to leve tail down till the box gets to the middle-ish then start lowering the rails. If the front tire start coming off the ground u pulled the rails down to far. But you need to pull them down as soon as possible to help the winch pull the box up. As u r doing this u need to watch make sure u line up the rails, so u don’t miss the inner rail section.. if you miss and the truck rails go to the out side to the rails of the box you are in trouble. If you have any other questions let me know If u r even driving and need help I monitor my KZbin channel all day Good luck it’s a fun job.

David Behr's I will be starting a roll off company soon. I am starting under CDL with 10 15 and 20 Yard cans. I am trying to decide between a small cable hoist truck, or a hook lift truck. What is your opinion?

Where is the cable lever to let out the cable?
@DavidsHowtosReviews4 жыл бұрын
Tony Herring There are two types, the one in this truck like most are in the cab between the seats and on the frame just behind the cab drives side. On Trailers the controls are on the outside on the frame of the trailer. The lever that lets the cable out also brings the cable back in.

Are these trucks considered class A or B?
@DavidsHowtosReviews6 жыл бұрын
Chris Ventura Sorry for late response I believe B Class A is tractor trailer....
@sean93736 жыл бұрын
Class B
@daveg26094 жыл бұрын
These are class B. The only difference between A & B is the size and weight of the trailer allowed. For the B driver, A trailer must be BOTH of the following.. actually weight less than 10,000 Lbs and only be capable of less 10,000. If either situation is more than 10,000Lbs, that's when you need an A

@@DavidsHowtosReviews why did you get out of roll off ?
@DavidsHowtosReviews3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately these are not “hook lifts” It’s a cable and ring, so once the rails hit the box then I have to get out and put the ring on the hook of the box. And when I lower the box I have to remove the Ring from the box

How do you know how far down to let the hoist down?
@DavidsHowtosReviews6 жыл бұрын
Mike jones Are u referring to when I’m loading the box? If so I can feel the load shift on the truck. Like, the rearend goes down and the front of the truck goes up. Lower the hoist to much and the front wheels will come off the ground. That is bad for the truck. Then when you have the box all the way up the rails and u put the hoist all the way down the front of the truck will go down. Some times
