I find the virtual environments to be very restrictive, I do wish they would allow us to create our own in blender and then transfer the blender files across, as you probably know blender is open source and so is the blender file format. I'm not expecting them to implement all the functions that is available in blender, a minimum amount of objects, textures and lighting is fine.

Yes, that is one of my main things I don't understand, why Picos Chinese 'clever'-'Bytedace' managers don't unlash the potential of the Pico. It looks like they once again copy bad 'Meta'-behavior, who try to keep their users in a rusty cage. The environments are Unity proprietary '.unity3d' formats, it would be much better to use open formats like gltf, fbx, or even obj, wrl. Another thing is that the 'pro' owners are capable to start own apps on boot time, 'Bytedance' has removed that function on the Pico4. Imagine independent developers could come with a better, real VR UI, not the shitty 2D UIs Pico and 'Meta' uses till today.

Should name it in a way that it is clear, this is for absolute beginners. Btw: the most essential recommendation for everyone who is planing to use it as a wireless pcvr hmd: get virtual desktop.

Free included streaming assistant also works fine. It really improved from the first version. Virtual Desktop is also great, but I don't miss it.

@@golongself Better as the first version: of cause (worse would have been impossible). Somewhere near VD? Not even close. The ultra resolution of the pico streaming assistant is in the range of "high" resolution of VD. Ultra & Godlike in VD beeing significantly sharper . Pico streaming assistant limited to 150 mbits encoding (up to 400 with h.264+ with VD) and no 10 bit colour at hevc. I could go on with naming advantages for VD, but i think these highlights are enough by far.

​@@74amazingrunning 3120x3120 on PC now at 750 h264 (tried 1000, no good might be my usb cable). Runs good latency at 34 ms on my 3090. VD looks good but colors are crushed and I'm limited to wireless and best i can do on h264 with wireless is 300 mbps to many neighbors and I live near the airport cant use channels on the upper end of 5ghz.

You need only an e-mail address on the start, as long as you don't want to buy apps in store. That is much nicer than the Farcebook/'Meta'-behavior.
