My problem is that even if I set up the workflow if a contact has DND on, it will immediately check the box again anytime you try to message them

If they have DND on then the workflow will just not send any communication in which the dnd is turned on for but everything else should work.

If I mispoke in my video my apologies you are correct if you enable this feature that will stat the dnd.

5:20 I use LC email system and tested this out and nothing happened. It says to, "The initial email that you send to an individual needs to include /*unsubscribe*/ tag" could you make a quick video on how to complete this set up? Is it as simple s just creating a workflow tag?

Not on a contact, the whole subaccount to stay compliant. Location: business profile> general> Make email complaint by using an unsubscribe link in your email> customize.

Hi, I manually added my phone number as a contact so I can test everytime I create an automation. Now, that my phone number is set to DND, how can I remove it so I can add and do some test automation again with my phone number?

Open your contact record and scroll down to the dnd area and uncheck all the boxes.

My DND seems very strict. I had a lead respond they couldn't make an appointment and the DND was triggered. Is there a way to make it less strict?

Not sure what happened but the only way to trigger DND is to send stop or use unsubscribe link.
