My wife and I bought a new mobile home in 1978. This was the first time I ever heard of cool seal. I was told I would have to reseal the seams every so often. From the ground you could see where the seams had been covered with cool seal. Well, after some time I decided I ought to get on the roof and use the cool seal. Guess what? The seams had only been cool sealed a little bit of their length, just what you could see from ground level. The rest, 98% or so, had never been cool sealed. Never knew if the salesman had lied to us about it being done or the people who built it were just slackers. In any event, it was a sign of what was to come. The trailer had a number of issues that we would discover the longer we lived in it. Wish I had known about the rubber roof repair back then.

Try this on problem. Area is for leaks that you may have now you can put the Rubber Roof on later, but this might help you in your situation now. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3jRgqKtbNaoqZYsi=2j4GEPq7e8JNWa9t

Curious as to why you added strapping to the wood roof rafters over the porch.
@Drewsroofingandhomerepair15 сағат бұрын
That’s a good question and what we did was removed a metal roof from the porch and decided because of an electrical wire on the ceiling fan that went on top of the Raptors. We would add two rows of strapping instead of removing the strapping and installing the OSB or plywood straight to the rafters, it was electrical wire that changed our mind. We only had to add two rows of strapping.

@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Ahh...that clears things up. Thanks for the reply.

I have a single wide that needs some sub floor repair. What thickness of OSB would you use?
@Drewsroofingandhomerepair22 сағат бұрын
You don’t use OSB on the floor and whatever you put on the floor needs to be 23/32 basically 3/4 of an inch. I have many videos on floor repairs. Go check them out. You will see the material that I use.

Is there a reason why you put your videos out in reverse order? The reason why I've asked I've already seen you put in the rubber down I've seen the final video showing the 4-inch overhang and just wondering.

I make videos with my iPhone and download them and then at the same time I am videotaping with my GoPro different parts of the job so actually what it does is I can share different parts of the video in different videos so it’s because I use two camera cameras

Do u ever remove the old ugly roof first???
@Drewsroofingandhomerepair14 сағат бұрын
That’s a good question and the answer is no we screw our strapping straight through the old Metal Roof roofing and then install our OSB with a 4 inch overhang

@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Thanks - I'll need to replace my single wide metal roof in a few years but want to remove the old one, add more insulation and a new roof. Improve where they previously connected to car port and lani roof with seems to the house roof, a poor job cuz they both leak. I fixed the lani leak cuz I could walk on the house roof, But the lanai roof with no supports is another story so far...
@Drewsroofingandhomerepair12 сағат бұрын
This is an option for leaks. You might want to do this where it leaks now. It will work as a temporary repair
I do not like them dead limbs over a rubber roof. Ever seal a rubber roof? Kool Seal is cheap enough. Thank you. Stay safe. This method does not meet Code where I live on homes built after 1972. Fortunately, we be 1968.

You're right, dead limbs are not good for a rubber roof.
