That enables the conversation to never focus on what he has done. When he spews lies or tries to misrepresent the truth it is him trying force a person to defend themselves. In the end you end of defending yourself the whole time and he sits there smirking and attacking.This is a TV show, but in real life you should just walk away and not defend yourself and let the say and believe whatever they want because getting to the "truth" is not their goal anyway.
