Just beating the beginner staff ghost isn't actually enough to unlock the expert one. You need to beat them by a few seconds (the actual time varies based on the track but it's typically around 4-7 seconds I believe). In other words, you have to beat a specific time that is a few seconds less than the actual staff ghost time, in order to unlock the expert staff ghost.

@@samiislam7962 aside from which vehicles are available and who bumps who, the heavier characters are faster, lighter characters can turn and accelerate more quickly, and the mediums are a balance. but speed is so important that most of the lightweights are just really bad. you can also think of the weight like a difficulty setting, lighter is easier to control but heavier is more rewarding.

heavier characters might be faster in general, but when it comes down to it, vehicle selection is the most important thing. even a lightweight with no speed boosts inherent to their character can be faster than most heavyweight combos, as long as the vehicle they're paired with has a high top speed like the bullet bike or the magikruiser!

You wouldn’t be able to use the spear. The spear requires you to unlock 10 fast staff ghosts. This overlaps with funky kong, effectively ruining the objective
