The unit looks great and has a lot of useful functions. In another review, I saw that the pads unfortunately read the velocity of the stroke incorrectly. Have you noticed this problem?

Man, you are not wrong it's so heavy. (sadly the heat of my country made those black rubberized ends go sticky, so I'll need to strip at some point). Good to see a Mallet Station review from someone with a nice Vibraphone, being it's so much cheaper than a mallet Kat and other alternatives. I have to confess I mine was an impulse buy and it's kind of collecting dust. My dad played a lot of Milt Jackson when I was young, so that I my love of electronica made this really appealing. I didn't really look into the KM1, I honestly thought it would be a sound generator, with built in synths, instead of a midi break out box. When plugged in does it provide power to the Mallet Station, or does it still need the main USB Type B (printer) cable connected? (I searched your videos after seeing the Mallet Station in the background of your XLN Life video)

if you use the malletstation with any USB connected device (iPad, computer etc) it provides power so you don’t need to attach any power cable. you can also use a power bank to power it if you’re outdoors and want to connect midi devices. have a great day ☀️

Been wanting to get a malletstation, I'm not very used to using midi controllers and recording but this video is very helpful! I love that vibe setup with the malletstation and the korg, would be so nice to have that

This is a great video. I have a question regarding this instrument: I owned a Malletkat for a little less than a year and found that it was very temperamental. There were entire sections of the instrument that wouldn't respond to being hit, and I had to get it repaired twice only for these issues to occur again within a few weeks. Have you had any issues like that on a mallet station instrument? I'm strongly considering purchasing one to be my primary gigging instrument, but I do not want to do that if it ends up being as temperamental as the Malletkat.

hey, as the malletstation was built in collaboration with Keith Mc Millen instruments the pads are really great. I also do a lot of finger drumming & stuff and the feel on the malletstation is really great. you can also calibrate the pads in the software for even more precision 🤙

how did you get rid of the latency when doing the xylophone practice? I'm a music teacher and I want my students to be able to use this for live performances, but I can't figure out how to not have a delay between hitting the note, and the sound playing

Thanks for the informative video! I have to say the noise gate on your spoken audio is very aggressive and distracting to me, please dial that back in the next one if you can!
