For those watching I have the book and many others of his. All of his material is extremely valuable. Thanks again Eddie for another great video.

Super, Michael and thanks for the testimonial for the books I've written. The Key of D book was the first one published and sold nationally in 1993. It's held up pretty well over the years.

A couple years back when first learning Banjo and utilizing "Claw Hammer" I learned by using Pete Seeger style playing. As you probably know Pete plucked upwards with his index finger rather then downward with it. I think this is helping me now with Don Reno style picking. It already seems natural for me to alternate thumb and index finger. I really look forward to going more in depth on Reno picking. I like Scruggs of course but Reno is really my guy! I'll be putting to use what I learn from you Eddie as I have most everything else including the Mandolin as well.

You are right about the similarity in that technique. I always loved Don. For those of us who started on guitar first, it's easy to see where his ideas came from. I got to meet him and see him before only a few months before he passed away. It was a very small audience, but he gave it his all like a true professional.

Eddie, I really like your videos and this is just another jewel to help us play out of that challenging key of D

Thanks Dan, if you're considering a deep dive into either this or the key of C, consider checking out the pdf book(s) I mention in the video description.
