Getting to know your neighbors and feeling connected to community is an important part of how happy you are in your home! The City of Colorado Springs along with local community partners, is launching a challenge to have 1,000 neighborhood gatherings by September 28 - which happens to be "Good Neighbor Day". A primary goal is to combat social isolation and loneliness by encouraging connections right where you live-on your block, in your neighborhood. This initiative underscores how we all have a role in fostering mental health.Mental health involves everyone, and that's a key message and goal in Colorado Springs.
Hosting a gathering is a proactive step towards addressing mental health concerns in our community. Research from Nextdoor suggests that knowing six or more neighbors can significantly reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness. So, by organizing or attending a neighborhood event, you're not just meeting people; you're building a network of support right outside your front door. Join us in making Colorado Springs a city of good neighbors, tackling the mental health crisis together.
Pikes Peak Leading Realtor, Marquesa Hobbs, talks with Joe Hollmann from The City of Colorado Springs more about this important initiative.
